Comments (2)They are all different, with different scope for layouts. There was one on here a few months ago that had a seperate kitchen area and bathroom, and, it was fairly easily amended into a 1 bed flat. So, it's kind of an impossible question to answer. If you're at all worried about noise, i'd say, that if the flats were in an old victorian / georgian house for instance, then don't worry, you can put a up a false ceiling with sound proofing if it had not already been addressed ( and a lot of them would have had this done at the time of conversion ). Choose wisely, ask a lot of questions from the estate agents and there would be no reason why you wouldn't be perfectly happy! Just remember that with flats ( even with a share of the freehold ), you have to have planning permission for just about everything, and permission from the freeholder. Any structural amendments have to be run past the freeholder and it's lkely to cost you to do that. There are lots of ways however to zone in studio flat with screens, bookcases on wheels etc which require no structural work at all, so anything is possible. Just get the biggest one you can, and take advice on Zoning from the profs on here afterwards. Good luck...See MoreAn ex-garage/ex-store room reborn as a self-contained studio apartment
