Cause of moisture on building

This is a new build yet to be completed. Could someone explain the cause of the moisture all round it and how it can be solved. There is no sign of water inside.

Comments (2)That doesn’t make sense considering it has already been painted! I doubt the builders waited a year before painting it in Almond White. Comments (17)Thank you Owl for pointing me in the direction of the very informative homebuilding article. I have what I believe is chimney salts in the chimney breast and a small amount in the alcoves. I intend to have the plaster hacked off, leave it a while before replastering to make sure the diagnosis is correct, and I have no more damp. Then I hope to apply internal insulation. I have the original ceiling coving. I would like to stop the insulation at the base of the coving. I presume the coving acts as insulation, so I’m hoping that I won’t have condensation....See More

9 years agolast modified: 9 years agoThe building had already dried. Apparently it rained and that is why it is so wet now. This is the explanation I had from the builder. What bothers my mind is how plaster could absorb so much rain. Anyway, I am in frequent contact with builder and I am putting all these comments together plus other professional advice to come up with solutions if it is realised that there is a defect in the construction.

9 years agoHi the render does look wet. what country is the building in?
Need better pics. Up close
Take pictures of bottom sides of door ways to see if a dpc has being fitted. The render should not go below the dpc as it sucks up moisture from the ground and will cause rising damp.
Please supply more pics and ill guild you with what to do.
