Condensation on windows
Comments (6)It could be worth getting a damp expert round to check the humidity levels in the whole house if the condensation is really bad as it's obviously only visible on windows. Heating and ventilation will help. Keep the heating up, as it's a dry heat it helps reduce the moisture. If you open windows, you need to do the whole house so you don't just move it from one place to another. I think you're meant to air the house for a few minutes several times a day. Make sure the house is well ventilated when cooking and bathing. If you need to dry clothes in the house, then do it front of open windows. We live in an old house and only get condensation where we have really heavy curtains. The problem goes when we leave the window open all night but my husband often shuts it..I think you can also get trickle vents installed which will help. A dehumidifier should also work but it may be worth just seeking a few minutes of expert help which may be cheaper in the long run....See MoreWhat colour have you painted your window frames?

Comments (4)This is a very unusual window configuration with the fixed panes and then hinged window in the middle. I imagine originally it may have been a sash window in the centre pane? Are you in the uk m, the window latch looks more European to me. I would ask a reputable glaZing company to look at them for you. They could hopefully quote to add double glazed panels to the existing framework? Failing that a good carpenter that makes windows would be able to remake the unit for you. I hate UPVC too it would look pretty clunky. If you have the budget I would ask a wooden window maker to quote to replace it with a central sash and fixed panes either side...See More- 11 years ago
