DINING ROOM COLOUR/VISION HELP

I have a dining room which seats 8, which we enter through our living room.
It has a long narrow window, which we need for the light, it also has bi folding doors that leads through to a raised decking area into the garden which we have open in the summer.
The whole room is currently a clinical white.
I bought a (window, pane mirror as a feature) but it needs some colour desperately and I was thinking about painting/wallpapering the wall where the mirror is hanging but am scared to get it wrong and its ends up looking smaller than it is already.
I was also considering getting a long in width, short blind to add some colour to the awful window. Does anyone have the vision I need?

Comments (8)Hi Jay, we agree that a golden oak could clash with your walnut worktop. But think you could still go for an oak with lighter or ashen tones. The shades below are understated so would be great for flowing through multiple rooms too. And of course, as they're lighter floors they'd help to keep your spaces feeling nice and open. 9 years agoAs for your long narrow window, you can consider using transclucent coloured paper available in all colours.
