Boring bedroom!
Comments (7)Hi - thanks so much for your comments. I like the idea of adding some deeper purples and maybe toning the black down to a dark grey instead. Unfortunately there's no where else for the dressing table to go - I used to have my spare room as a dressing room but we have a baby on the way so that's had to move. Would the moving of a radiator be fairly easy - I'm not very DIYish so not sure but it does annoy me that in a new build they don't put radiators in more practical places like under windows as they just take up more valuable wall space I keep thinking about a bigger ottoman - but have just been put off until I decide on colours. In terms of bedsides I'm not that keen on matchy and also the dressing table can't really go anywhere else but I do think the other side needs something so need to have a think about that to make it a bit more balanced I think......See MoreMy boring bedroom!!
Comments (6)Hello Rosie, I like the sound of the stag/deer wallpaper and you can re-design with that theme in mind! .. You could have bedroom lighting above the bed or bedside tables.. that has a bit of stag theme... see the images. Also if you wanted you could carry it on a bit more and have a head in cardboard.. On the opposite wall... For the bed... Why not have a nice throw and pillows in a brown/beige tartan... You can have some lovely large pillows for the bed and a nice blanket or throw folded over the bottom... This ties in the whole stag paper theme. The colours for the cushions and throw/blankets really depend on the paper! .. So you want to pick out the colours from that! Move the nice arm chair to a position in front of the wooden cupboards. The chair and cupboards lend themselves to the theme very well so make something of what you have...You could add another tartan throw or cushion onto the chair..... and then move that unit away if you can and all the things on top.. Why not try to hang the pictures rather than place them on the window... This will leave the window nice and open... : ))...See MoreBored of grey living room. What next?
Comments (18)Thank you everyone for your great suggestions. I don't have a lot of money I'm afraid so can't really splash out buying everything new. My bedroom is Mauve with light grey accessories which I love but I don't really want to copy that in the living room. I do think a carpet would make the living room warmer as its quite a cold house. But would that mean more grey (for carpet)?! As comfortable as the sofa is, it was probably not my best idea as its limiting choices. I just need to decide on a completely different colour or light grey and light grey curtains. I like the geometric suggestions but maybe in a white/silver or the peacock blue wall. Also I had one of the side walls yellow at one point but got bored of that too. Thanks again for all your help....See Moreboring entrance help
Comments (9)Hi, I'd definitely look at some art to replace the one you are moving, maybe one large piece or 3 smaller pieces; or, you could even create a gallery wall with framed photos. Alternatively, you could create interest using a modern geometric wallpaper. I'd be tempted to go for a narrower sideboard than the one you have and introduce a shoe storage cabinet like the one posted above; these are usually 20mm in depth so would fit into the recess (where the art is) perfectly....See Morechrsinne
