Hi, Roundhouse designed the kitchen only and
has limited details of other aspects of the design. We help when we can if we
have access to the relevant information but we are bespoke designers and
manufacturers of kitchens and can only answer questions about the kitchen
cabinetry and appliances – sorry!

Hi all, I need some advice on what type of lighting to install? I really like light coffers and so am thinking to install light coffers in a few sections. I would like to split the kitchen/dining room into 3 sections - Kitchen, Dining table and the section to the right of the Dining Table. Kitchen Section - LED spotlights throughout and 3 pendant lights above the breakfast bar. Dining Table Section - LED spotlights throughout, a central light above the dining table and a light coffer. Section to the right of the Dining Table - LED spotlights throughout and a light coffer. I wonder if there are better options to choose rather than light coffers (I'm not sure if they will quickly go out of fashion) or what other mood lighting options to consider. Also with light coffers how much of a distance should I leave between the wall and the edge of ceiling board? 4"? 6"8"? Thanks, Rom

Ah if it's a powder it should be fine then! I really would recommend you getting some fabric samples to check against paint though as paint is far cheaper. The paint colours you have chosen work well together, If you're looking at a feature wall you could potentially look at neutral but textured wallpapers such as grasscloth, silk, linen, shagreen etc. If you go for texture you may not tire of it. My living room is charcoal silk effect wallpaper on each wall, it's been up 3 years and I can't see us ever tiring of it. You could then add an accent colour for cushions etc which you can change cheaply whenever you feel like it. As you haven't got a fire perhaps add a console and art etc to make that the feature wall.

Was going to suggest hanging a long cord on the one above bed and then hooking it over to become a bedside lamp, but you'd have to be careful with that cord so that it doesn't get in the way coming from a fairly low ceiling. Otherwise, a simple flushmount above the bed might be the best just so it's not so visually impactful. You could hang a nice pendant in the window though and that would draw the eye over there and (hopefully) distract from the one above the bed. I'd also go large on the bedside lights so that they become a feature in the room too, something big and bold to attract attention - those are the ones you'll use all the time.
