Basic front and back landscaping advice
Comments (6)Hi Martin, It depends on the soil type what variety of trees are best to plant. Was it a field before the house was been built? If it was its bound to be full of couch which takes time to get rid off. You might have to put up with a brown landscape until the summer as you will need to kept it sprayed the grass and weeds regrowth. Don't get into a hurry because you are moving in. Its best to do things slowly and with thought to what you want for a garden. Because it looks a large site according to the sketched plan you gave with the photos you need to divide the garden into separate areas to make it interesting and also with hedges or trees give privacy to your property. Last landscaping large gardens isn't cheap and sometimes the money isn't spent on the garden but in the house resulting a garden without much in it except lawn and no design. Comments (84)We have just purchased what we hope to be our last house. It is a very big plot and we are looking to knock down and get planning for a very large house over 4 floors. (12,000 sq ft). We know what we want internally however our issue lies with the external look and feel. My wife wants classic new build, with pillar entrance, sash box windows with stone cills or surroundings (Surrey Commuter belt!). I like contempory white, modern, square, glass walls, feature cladded walls with balconies (Beverly Hills!) Our compromise is classic at the front contempory at the rear. We need help! Hopeful designjunction will help offer solutions so we can move forward....See MoreDo I need groundworks or a garden designer?
Comments (10)I see what you mean, gulp! Very challenging but my first thought was the trees need to go as they are like blots on the landscape, but you’re onto it. Thing is with sycamores, they self seed all over the place so that may be why they have grown in your garden. There is a story on Houzz where people landscaped a very wild and tiered garden so I will try and find it so you can have a look. I think, as you probably suspect, it is beyond our skills and you do need a garden designer to design and complete the work. Houzz does have links to Professionals and have a Find a Professional section at the top of the page. I suggest you search this via the website rather than the App which isn’t easy to use. On the website search garden designers and it will list ones in your area, photos of past work as well as customer reviews and price guidelines. I wish you lots of luck....See MoreGarden Designers and Landscape Arch's: Garden Furniture best brands?
Comments (2)If you have already completed the construction phase of the house, it will be a little more difficult to fit everything in. Thinking about the landscape design immediately when creating the project house is desirable. But if that wasn't possible, it's worth doing it now. Also, if you want to create a special interior in your recreation area, think through the color palette and style. Which will be in harmony with everything around. You can see everything you need to do this here https://www.gardenfurniture.co.uk. I think that if you add more bright furniture, it will look more lush and beautiful against the green garden. Shades of orange or blue would work for you....See MoreTaylor Made Gardening
