Stonework and brick...basically a mini castle!

The most amount of stonework and brick I have used on a project. It is coming along nicely. I can't wait to see the finished project, as well as the landscaping!

Yes, it is all quarried stone and real brick. He wouldn't even go for manufactured stonework let alone anything veneered. It was quite a costly exterior that's for sure, but the finished product looks amazing. Once the projects fully finished I'll be posting more professional photos, which will have some more detailed shots of the stone and brick.

There is an old adage that goes something like this: "If you have to ask how much something costs, you probably can't afford it".

In this instance, the adage is true in my case.

I know it is way above my affordability, but one can dream;)

This time of year, substitute Moét for the moat.

Architectural, if rich folk don't ask the costs they may not stay rich for long. Many rich folk are very cost conscious.

The stone and brick are beautiful. Rather surprising to see such a dark roof used in what appears to be a dry, perhaps hot, landscape. A lighter color would have been more environmentally friendly especially considering the large area it covers.

pdk920 the house is in AB Canada :) So it defiantly isn't hot or dry, it is actually quite the opposite.

I'm glad to hear that absorbing heat might be an asset; thank you for that information, Novus Designs.

There's snow on the ground in early December. It looks like a very cold place to me.

There's already been snow on the ground in Eastern Oregon too, but believe me, in summer we need something that reflects heat, not absorbs it. But this home is considerably further north.

As much as I like it, I almost think it is too much brick. But if that what the customer wants, then so be it.
