Hi there, It's really down to personal taste. Lots of our customers choose different window dressings for the front of their houses. Sometimes this is for practical reasons - a blind with a blackout fabric for a bedroom, for example, or a blind with slats for a room such as a living room where you might want more privacy. Other times, they'd just like a different look in different rooms to match decor schemes. As you've mentioned, you've practical reasons of your own for choosing different window dressings, so there's no reason why you shouldn't go ahead and cater to those. Colour is always a very personal matter - to express my own opinion, however, I would opt for white (or just off white) for architraves, skirtings, coving ceiling and any picture/dado rails every time. This will, "frame" your wall and make the chosen wall colour really stand out. Wrt the doors - I think you have more options here. A matching white will still look great; picking your original light grey or, eve, a darker shade could also work (difficult to know without seeing the grey!), but care should be taken. White would still be the safest option (and is a classic - see below), but is not the only route. As another idea - if your doors are panel doors, you could think of going two tone with white and grey to just accentuate the shapes of the frames, but you would need a delicate touch to get the look right

Very tidy garden, but it just needs that “something” doesn’t it? How about creating an Islamic style garden? All about water and tranquility with lots of straight lines. You could add a bowl shaped water feature or a fountain in the middle, with a path leading up to the fountain, and then leading to the borders behind it. Water fountains are very popular now and they usually come complete with a fountain and a long lead, usually 32 feet, with a plug at the end. I have an urn shaped one and it was so easy to set up. I would also add more shrubs and flowers in the borders, although I realise not everything is out yet. You can use the same paving you already have or go the full Monty with colourful tiling.
