Do you like blue?

Cool, calming and consistent, blue is a colour that never fails to impress! In pale hues and dark blues, it's also a colour that has plenty of variety to it.

Really liking dark, indigo blue at the moment. Considering using it in our new white kitchen, along with chrome appliances to try to recreate this sort of thing:

Having converted two flats into one, I wanted something different as drawers, as I now have a walk-in wardrobe (!!!). These were exactly the ticket. Blue matches the cushions, grey matches the rest of the paint/walls, red matches the tub chair in the bedroom.

I adore red, it's my favourite colour by far and is all over my wardrobe. I even have red glasses, it's kind of a signature thing of mine. When my partner and I recently bought our first flat we had to redecorate it all very quickly and went with quite neutral shades throughout: oak wood, white, black and grey. We then added touches of red in kitchen accessories, curtains, cushions and finally red carpet in the corridor, staircase and landing to tie it altogether. The only rooms which have no red are our 2 bathrooms as I like them better crisp and neutral.

Why not post a pic of your bathroom and suite? Colourhappys pics show that you can update bathrooms in a great way without necessarily having to go buy new. So perhaps with some clever choices the budget temporary update can be the permanent one?

What did you end up doing Debbie? Any photos to share? Not a fan of light blue either - but dark is so classic, expensive-looking and dramatic without being controversial. This is our newly painted bookcase (Stiffkey blue), sometimes dark blue sometimes bluey-grey. Love it!

My favourite colour is blue.

I wasn’t sure about
the colour "Teal" my client chose when i saw it on a swatch but it works great in
this kitchen which is flooded with light from the skylight and large French
doors

I don't like light blue either in a home, however I do like a light blue sky. Art looks very good against a dark blue wall.

I love indigo, teal and some pale shades of blue as long as they're warm. The dark shades like indigo go especially well with copper and gold. Like all colours, it's the shade that counts and what it either blends well with or contrasts most effectively with.

I love blue. All shades of it. The vinyl flooring in my lounge and kitchen have streaks of blue in it. The rug is blue and so are the curtains.

The back splash in my kitchen is also pearly blue. I just never get tired of it!

To be honest, it's the only color I refuse to decorate with; don't feel comfortable even in spaces other than my own with copious amounts of it either. I will be a little less stiff when it comes to darker blues, but other than that? Nein.

I love blue. Turquoise, cobalt and navy for wearing (good for garden cushions too with white!). For interiors ŷou cannot beat F&B railings imo which I will be using on my front door soon (inside and out) subject to consent fingers crossed! I also absolutely love the dark teal and petrol blue around atm but they won't be making an appearance unless I make expensive changes. I also like duck egg although not in my current house. As I write I've realised blue is probably my favourite colour although definitely not the Pantone shade of the year! We also had our car sprayed blue as they didn't make our series in that particular colour...

I have to, my three-year-old is blue mad. In all seriousness though, I have decided to paint two of the walls in my north-facing Study (which is a front room of the house) in teal, it's currently in pure white, all the furniture, including two IKEA billy bookcases and an old armchair, are all white in colour. Same for the wooden Venetian blinds. It looks immaculate in the summer but feels, and is, very cold in the winter. Hoping the warm blue colour will hear it up a little!

I don't like blue with white as it cam look very cold, but I love it with sludgy bronzes and stone colours.

Only love dark rich blues and dislike pale blues.
I've done my lounge in dark navy, our upstairs WC in the same paint and even contemplating using it in the 3rd spare bedroom as a gender neutral feature wall! Perfect.

I love blue, all shades of it, especially when paired with grey. My favourite item in our new house is my blue swivel chair, the perfect spot to curl up with a good book! As we decorate the house room by room, blue and grey are becoming a recurring theme....
