Which flooring to choose

I am having a new kitchen high gloss white handleless units black work tops and appliances. My dilemma is tiles or karndean flooring, the kitchen flows through into the dining room and I am not sure whether the high gloss black tiles that I like will be too much in the dining room as well any suggestions please?

Tiles are great for a kitchen but can be too cold without underfloor heating. Black gloss will also show up watermarks and smears in a hard water area. If you are set on black how about a black with a subtle glitter in it? Kardean is quicker to lay than tiles and the very hard wearing and warm underfoot. You could have black tiles in kitchen and wood effect in dining room

Thank you they were my initial thoughts and I will have a look at Kardean.

Gray is the new beige. Neutrals are necessary to keep a home from looking like a box of crayons, but do you really want to have your whole home painted neutral? Almost no one hates beige or gray, but I rarely find anyone who says "My favorite color is Gray!" or "I love beige!" I had a white walls and light beige tile floors for many years and people would come into my home and say how clean my home always looked. With all the natural light it did always scream clean! Now I have a maroon kitchen, purple undertoned taupe ceilings and walls in the main part of the home and blue greens in the bathrooms and bedrooms. My accents are blue greens, purples and reds. People come in now and say "Your home is beautiful", "Who helped you find these colors?", "Wow, I love your home!". My house is not what you will find in any magazine, it defies trends and will never be dated. I picked colors that I love and added a neutral that worked with the deep reds, blue greens and purples that I love. Picking the right neutral was really dependent on picking the colors that I love and finding the neutral that worked best with those colors. What is your favorite outfit. The one that makes you feel like you are walking on water? If it is a grey suit with a bright red shirt, then paint your home grey and have bright red accents. You want your home to reflect who you are, not what is popular today.

Hello Anthony Edwards Kitchens, Oh what fun! I also enjoyed Seat Dreams response... Now lets see.. The toaster could burn whatever is put into it and possibly send a smoke S.O.S (as they do) (but not so gr8 if you're in a two bed semi in basingstoke) and if you then found despite your endeavours, you were cast away for a year and a day (Sans football) and could take it no more.. You could then if you were greedy and had the microwave too make a *%#*@%! This may send a bigger S.O.S and possibly make all the difference in the world... : ))

I think a brick wall will look amazing as I love them. I love the rustic orangey reds like the one behind the faceless lady. It adds so much warmth. You could use brick slips instead which are real bricks but much thinner so they are applied rather like tiles. My builder brother used them on a job in a loft and he really liked them and they look like full size bricks. These a brick slips

I think I'd go for karndean throughout, it will make the space feel bigger and more cohesive. Wood also works really well with white gloss units to add warmth. As said above, the gloss tiles would also be hard to keep clean!
