Splash back ideas

I'm thinking my kitchen is looking abit boring. I'm buying a new toaster and microwave in stainless steel soon as I hate white appliances.
I was thinking to rip off the stainless steel splash back near the cooker and do a coloured splash back right along in a colour. The house is very grey as you can tell I like the industrial/natural sort of theme. There's already a feature wall in the kitchen I'm abit scared to do anything in case it all clashes... Any ideas would be a great help...

I did think maybe a bright yellow splash back OR mirrored tiles to reflect light around the room and jazz it up.

I think your room is great, try putting a mirror on the feature wall instead of plants, move plants to window, buy some colorful yellow hand towels and bowls to add more yellow, I would not remove the at aimless behind stove, I love it, just needs some accessories, how about a nice rug for color as well, and maybe a new Roman shade

I think the kitchen looks great. Perhaps a pile of chopping boards next to the sink and something vintage on the shelves. I wouldn't do a coloured splashback with an industriał look. If you really want to change it and budget isn't an issue (they are dear!) try an antiqued mirror splashback. You can also just silver leaf the ŵall and then have a clear glass splashback for a budget version. Alternatively have a look at metal sheeting splashbacks, you can also get hammered ones etc for texture. If you don't mind mixing metals then try bronze or copper. I had thought you could do american tin tiles on the ceiling as an alternative to bounce light but then realised how high the cupboards are fitted.. You could also look at tin tile wallpaper and again clear splashback over the top. Not for light, but leathered marble looks great but I'm struggling to find any in the uk

Have you thought about using it in the garden? Copper looks great outside and these types of mosaic sheet make great wall facings. If you have an existing wall (it needs to be rendered), or can afford/have space to have a feature wall constructed, use the copper sheets as a facing. Make sure you use exterior/swimming pool grade adhesive and grout. Plant some simple clipped shapes, or architectural forms to either side and it will look amazing.

I agree with Cathy on this. Glass splash backs without the wood upstands would look great. I've used a company called Decoglaze for these in the past. They are not the cheapest, but they do a fantastic job. If you choose a light colour for the splash back, you'll need optically clear low iron glass. Otherwise the green hue of the glass will change the colour. For dark colours, you can get away with normal glass. As the glass is going behind the hob, it will need to be toughened. I'm assuming from the photo that the job is electric not gas. Have you got under cabinet lighting? This will enhance the effect of the glass quite a bit.

Hi. The kitchen looks great, where did the fridge end up going?! I like the tiles, they will go with the units and the prism shape mirrors the table. I also like the idea of adding a different texture however I don't think the different shades of white work together (on my screen anyway!) so would look for a different shade of white . How big is the veining as choosing a different scale for the prism tile would work? You could also consider a grey grout. I'm not sure my pictures help but just showing a tile laid in a pattern with a veined worktop and sandwiching a black worktop with white units and tiles. I love the angel and boho bench, I've posted that so many times on here! These chairs aren't a wishbone and no longer available (!) but maybe a wishbone could work or something similar in shape? I might also paint the utility door in the wall colour to help it blend in?

I would either add a pattern of some sort (examples in my splashback ideabook) or a mirror, as it would tie in with the grey scheme, but add more light to the door fronts and appliances!

Cool kitchen! I think a coloured splashback would look great, we have a great selection of tiles - metro tiles would certainly suit the theme. And we have new Lustrolite gloss panels which can be cut to size which would also work.

Antiqued mirror would look great with your grey theme; as you said it would reflect light around the kitchen and in turn make it look bigger. You could use metro tiles or one piece of glass, depending on what you prefer. As you mentioned, because you have quite a busy feature wall already, I think it would look good using a subtle antique finish. Let us know if you would like some free samples to look at.
