I find the shape a little odd as you have 3 windows & not all in synch. I would maybe get shutters that start on the wall where the bay goes into on either side then have them half tilted closed the day as that would make it look like one large bay window instead of the two together then the one on the right. Could you go to the expensive of putting new windows in that don't tilt but open from the top ?

There is an argument for both light and dark curtains- an image search of this site will pull up lots of inspiring pictures. If it were my room I would have plantation shutters or simple blinds. If you want curtains I would choose a pale curtain that either tones in with the floor or the sofa. I would buy inexpensive curtains but customize them with a velvet stripe on the leading edge. You haven't mentioned any pattern in the room I would put pattern on a rug or cushions but if you don't want either of these then consider a patterned curtain instead

Hi! Finally sorted & happy! I made 2 linen panel curtains with loose linings ( started with fixed linings but the panels were wavy when open). The panels are roughly the size of the window. I used a system called Integra Discreet Metal Curtain Track ( ceiling or wall fix) available through www.polesandblinds.com and bought a cording set to go with the system. it's simple but effective. I use a clear & hook to fix the drawn curtain panels in place. The added bonus is it was a very cheap product! The photos don't really do it justice!

My house 1970s house has quite wide (2.35m) windows that I struggle to know what to do with. I love the look of plantation blinds but it would be over £1000 to do the two front windows and that’s from a DIY website. I looked at wooden Venetians but they don’t sell them in the width I want. Would it be weird to have two side-by-side? My son wants a plain roller blind for his window but I sort of like the idea of his window matching the one below as they are the only two windows at the front of the house. The downstairs front window really needs a bit of privacy as lots of people walk past every day but it’s not an issue upstairs as there is only a high school across the road. At the moment the front and rear living room windows have shabby old vertical blinds which I know many people hate. However, they are good for privacy and filtering light, which is particularly important as the back of the living room has a large sliding patio door. Picture with ladder shows new upstairs window going in. The ground floor window was also replaced with one made up of 8 panes.
