Comments (14)Greg think you have made a great start, just needs a few colourful statement pieces. Firstly the chest of drawers are fab, my suggestion if you like them would be to utilise them in the lounge either side of the radiator under the window, for storing what looks like cd's the other side of the fireplace in these. You could put the existing cubes either side of the two sofa's. I would ditch the rug in the lounge, and get something bold and bright such as cobalt blue with orange/yellow. In the bedroom, keep the IKEA drawers and paint them either black or dark blue and have them adjacent to each other on the back wall opposite the bed, with the TV on top as someone has already suggested. The art work is great, but would swap it over to where the mirror is and move that elsewhere. Again ditch the rug, maybe an animal skin would work well in here, keeping a masculine feel. Pick some of the colours from the artwork for a well chosen throw and cushions for the bed, and don't be afraid to use some other accessories such as vases, lamps and dare I say candles!...See MoreHelp us create an inside, outside!
Comments (4)So much potential! The style to go for here is industrial & eclectic! Outhouse rooms - I'd use the outhouse rooms for storing your gardening equipment & bike cleaning gear. I'd get some cheap shelves from IKEA for storing stuff on. Bikes - You could get some hooks to hang your bikes on and use them as 'art' in your dining area, hang them in a symmetrical order, keep them clean and make retro signs up for whose bike goes on what hooks. Colours - I'd paint the blue doors and the back of the roller door in a soft charcoal grey. The floor I would paint in a dark charcoal as painting concrete makes it easier to sweep out. The green is already your main accent colour and is very fitting for an outdoor space. Wheelie bins - these are generally smelly so I'd keep them in the outhouse rooms and get some bin deodorizer. Or keep outside, you can get some great covers which your partner could make up - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Woodside-Wooden-Outdoor-Wheelie-Bin-Cover-Storage-Cupboard-Screening-Unit-/201382140841?var=&hash=item2ee34f9ba9:m:mZlO8F0159y-uvQzZoux_Cg Washing - Get your partner to make up some clothes airers like these - http://pulleymaid.com/classic_clothes_airer.htm Table - I'd keep this in front of the window and pull into the middle of the room when friends are over. Buy a mix of different vintage wooden stools or chairs to give an eclectic industrial look Pots - I'd keep the plants to a couple of well looked after large tubs and keep either side of the roller door. These could be on moveable trolleys so they're easy to move if necessary. Finishing Touches - This is the fun part! Some rustic candelabras for the table, outdoor wall clock with Roman numerals, artwork could be a collection of vintage street signs, string of outdoor lights wrapped around the beams (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/37-5-Foot-S14-Outdoor-Globe-String-Lights-Set-of-25-S14-Clear-Edison-Bulbs) These are just some ideas - have fun & enjoy!...See Morei need help on type of colour, tiles or any other material on outside

Comments (18)My plan shows steps down from the kitchen to the garden room as I noticed the wc was on a lower level. I still prefer my plan because:- you end up with a bigger living room (on the first floor) and the plan suggests there is a balcony outside these windows; you move the dining room to the entrance level and then put an opening to the hallway so that the hall seems bigger and your first impression is improved; the front basement room will have the most limited outlook and light so in my opinion should be a gym or guest room, you have a kitchen in the heart of the house; you have a living space at a likely similar height to the garden; the main bedroom moves up a floor to a likely quieter position; the guest rooms all have fewer stairs for the parents; and you don’t have to take out major walls to achieve this. But of course this is all based on the plans provided but you know your house best. Perhaps now you are getting some ideas you should consider the available budget and explore some of the layouts with a designer or concept planner....See More- 10 years ago
