Kitchen flooring please please help

My first kitchen. I have been wracking my brains for weeks to decide on a floor for my kitchen.
It's white walls' grey units, white work tops and oak breakfast bar.

I hate laminate and I would like the flooring to go through the whole downstairs including the living room

Hi,

It doesn't sound like you could go far wrong with a solid wood floor throughout Christy. It would compliment the white and grey you have in the kitchen, white worktops look great against the warmth of wood.

I have attached a picture to help illustrate the point for you.

Hi, please make the high quality (size) photo of your kitchen, then go to www.northlondonfloors.co.uk and click on "Room Planner" logo in the top menu. In the window that opens, click on "upload your photo". Open an acocunt with them and for something like 20€ you can upload photo of your kitchen. After that you will be able to see your kitchen with more than 100 different floors. If you need more guidance, please let me know. Regards

I DID THE FLOOR AND NEVER MOVED, SON MOVED BACK HOME WITH HIS FAMILY. I THEN LIVED IN THE PROPERTY FOR A FEW YEARS AND HAD MAJOR REGRET ABOUT NOT GOING FOR MY GUT INSTINCT ON FLOOR. I THINK THE FLOOR WILL LOOK SENSATIONAL. IT WILL BE STUNNING WITH THE COLOUR OF YOUR UNITS. JUST WARM UP WITH ACCESSORIES, COPPER PANS AND ACCESSORIES ARE VERY TRENDY RIGHT NOW. KEEP THE WALLS LIGHT. I think the third one. Light but warm. The first one is very 'characterful' with large knots which would give more of a rustic feel. This can work in both period and contemporary spaces, but if its a wood effect flooring, the more prominent the character features, the more obvious it will be that its not real. If its a real wood floor then you could go for a character grade oak. Talk to your supplier or fitter about a clear lacquer or oil finish. They are much improved in recent years with no yellowing with time.
