Reclaimed Parquet - Modern Kitchen, help !!!
Comments (39)Unless you've got hours of spare time, I would avoid reclaimed parquet. I've just spent untold hours cleaning up a mix of reclaimed parquet I had in the loft (hard bitumen) and recently lifted parquet (wet bitumen) from our old extension before it was demolished. Although you can get glues that work with bitumen, you still need to ensure the blocks are relatively flat and clean. Worst thing is, although it looked like I had more than enough, some of it was unusable due to damage, so I'm now 3-4 sq metres short, and it's proving impossible to find the correct size and wood type. I didn't have a choice as the whole ground floor is herringbone parquet, so had to match it up, otherwise I'd have gone for new, it's not much different in price to reclaimed, and you don't need to clean it or sand everything level....See MoreWhat is looking good in your garden right now?

We had to have a trench dug across it last year for the new drains for the kitchen, plus we've had trees taken down, new patios laid, beds made and a whole bed of ground elder laid fallow and covered for over a year. Consequently, since Easter, we have been "doing" the garden - well I say we, it's actually the OH doing all the grunt work, digging, planting and re-planting (oops), with me in a purely managerial capacity and doing a bit of dead heading. This is what it was like in 2017 And last year...See Morewhat’s happening with bathrooms?? all grey and metro tiles
Comments (99)Hi, the shower was this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brushed-Gold-Bathroom-Shower-Set-Mixer-Tap-8-Square-Head-Top-Spray-Hand-Shower-/383739772939?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 Not used it yet although the plumber said switching between then is a bit hard as the head drips a bit so? Also the bath filler is very high up but we have a fixed screen to the side and it sits right over the bath waste so doesn't cause an issue as far as we can tell. Tap is lovely https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383794535361...See Morewinterfloods
