Has anyone used floor tiles to create a skirting board in their bathroom? Any tips? I'm using a different wall tile on one of the walls and in the wet areas and I'm wondering how this will all look. All comments gratefully received! Thank you.
Used this effect in our bathroom, spare floor tiles cut to the same height as the regular skirting boards and finished with an aluminium tile trim and ivory grout. Good luck R
Hello. We often cut additional floor tiles to make the skirtings for a contemporary look whether in a bathroom or elsewhere. The skirting height will be of personal preference - if you search online for tiled skirtings in images, you'll see a range of different heights; some look fine, others look out of proportion. - we find 100mm to be reasonable for a modern scheme in a small space - you can also get at least 2 of these out of a 300mm wide floor tile as two of the edges will be factory finished. If you are concerned about the contrast with the different wall tiles, you should hold samples together in situ and see what they look like together. I assume you are running these wall tiles down to the floor, so that the skirtings are only in areas where there are no wall tiles - this, of itself, should look fine. Hope this helps. Nick
