Comments (23)I agree, converting the garage would improve the kerb appeal as you'd get a nice double frontage instead of a garage door staring at you. If you need to keep the garage then you could at least paint the door so it does contrast=stand out so much. Better planting to frame the front door + a new front door would be a massive improvement too. I wouldn't worry about grey windows, though - it is a bit of a fad and will soon fall out of favour just as brown Windows have. Also, I can't see that they would go with the brickwork....See MoreFence colour advice please

Comments (24)Just remembered I promised to post an update once the fence was finished. Here it is. Excuse the state of the bushes etc, they need a bit of tidying up, and a few more shrubs / trees / plants addes, plus I made the mistake of letting my father in law loose with the loppers on the hedge in the corner - never again! Happy enough with the fence colour though, thanks for all your help....See MoreFence panel dilemma
Comments (4)Thanks both, this is really helpful. I’ll post some more pictures in a mo. I’m keen to explore painting the horizontal slats in different shades of stain - maybe you used Cuprinol which seems to be very popular? The builder who is doing the work suggested this as an option and the using a rag to rub over it...but that sounds frightening..... Its a very contemporary modern finish/look that I’m after and we have had the backs of each slat protected with a dark coloured creosote and then the front slats have had a clear Cuprinol put on. It’s just the colour of the stain that we choose that is now bothering me. Can I ask you to shed some more info on staining each slats in a different colour of stain? Thank you in advance. We also have to stain the pergola too....and we’re thinking along the lines of a wenge/black colour?...See Moreinnovation999
