Mylands. You always regret your economies. I've repainted this kitchen 4X over the years, and last time was in Dulux which wore so poorly. Just custom mixed a new vibrant duck egg to paint my kitchen in marble matt walls, eggshell woodwork, and floor paint. Mylands matched impeccably. It was a dream of coverage, and looks spectacular. The quality of the pigment shows, looks the money, nothing like synthetic mediocre pigments in cheaper paint. It's a big improvement.

John Lewis is a good place - loads of books of wallpapers and they also have rolls on display. I'm not sure about the Trafford store as I usually go to the Cheadle one. If there's a sample you need of something that's not in store, they order in for you. I also go to Laura Ashley, same again if they don't have a particular one in store they order a sample and its posted to you. I've found Wallpaperdirect pretty good too. I do know a few who swear by Wilco for decorating supplies but I don't have one near to us.

This is a real family kitchen with a very authentic fee. My own take would be to go one of two ways. Either go with the warm in the kitchen that you so obviously feel drawn to.... in which case the gingham in the warm tone would suit well. If you felt you wanted to tie in and bring together the more designed look, then go with the closest you can get to the Aga, these are samples but you can probably get a better match. Gingham is a class country furnishing choice, your home says family, warmth, winter suppers near the bum warmer...gingham won't fight that in winter, and will brighten the feel in summer.
