I want to partition the kitchen from the dining. As together, not a big area, don't want to make it look any smaller with a solid wall partition. Looking for other partition material, which may be easy to install and it it can provide additional storage (cupboards), would be great. Hence the max. 10 inch thickness for partition.

I voted no, but only because I don't see the point of having a tiny little strip from floor to ceiling. I'm not a fan of open plan, but I think if you're going to partition a space, it needs a purpose. I just think a partition that skinny is going to look odd in the middle of that space, almost like you are hiding a support for a column or similar.
