Comments (10)I'm trying to figure out if that sofa is sitting back flush against the breakfast bar? A quick sketch of the floorplan would help. I think you're trying to squeeze a lot of different pieces of furniture into one room - bookcase, linen cupboard and console table. It could end up looking very cluttered and cramped. My instinct would be to get a good carpenter to build one bespoke piece that can accomodate everything - bookshelves above, cupboards below, and made to measure spaces for tv and hifi. A custom built unit can be pricey but you get exactly what you need, plus builtin furniture transforms a room into something cosy and homely. I'd use most of the wall where the Olympic Games poster is. The tv should be towards the corner where the tub chair is presently, and i'd use the smallest tv possible! Consider having the unit spraypainted in a colour rather than plain oak- this would really add personality....See MoreDining table for L-shaped living room
Comments (6)Hi rinq, Thank you so much for your time and suggestions. We do actually need a 6-8 seater and that's one of the reasons we are getting a new table and were thinking to get something that would add some warmth and cosyness to the living room. Do you think perhaps a rug under the Mango table would solve the orange shade that might clash with the flooring? Also I do like the second table. However, our preference is more towards warmer more earthy Colors. Are there any other Color chairs that you would suggest? Thanks again Meli Thanks...See Morehelp with living room/dining room layout and furniture
Comments (3)Hi there, Looking at your layout and depending on how many people will be seated I suggest looking into corner shaped sofa along the long wall closer to the window so that you can set up a TV on the opposite wall and get the most out of your space. However it does mean you may lose a little bit of the light from the doors. Alternatively you could have a 2 seater sofa and an armchair where your cupboards are to hide it a bit and still give you plenty of seating. For your dining table I suggest to keep this closer to the kitchen. From the floor plan I don't think you will be able to have a very large table so if you do plan to entertain I suggest to buy an extending dining table. I am not sure how far the kitchen comes, if it is beyond the door on the opposite wall? Then I would suggest to going for a two seater sofa instead. Hope this helps, thanks Rukmini...See MoreDining Table and Lighting suggestions
Comments (9)Hi! Would it be worth asking an electrician to give you a price for moving the light to where you want it? Then you're not restricted with your choice of light, the fitting doesn't look that big so hopefully not a big job to patch up the hole that's left. Regarding your table I would get a throw and fold it to the size and shape you want for the table, see what it looks like on the floor. I'm hopeless at judging how something will fit in my room so I use cardboard boxes, blankets etc to give me an idea....See More- 9 years ago
