Bathroom decor/layout help
Comments (7)The actual bathroom is nice, but sorry to say it’s all your clutter that is the problem. Sorry to be Honest! You need enclosed storage to hide everything away. A mirrored wall cupboard above the sink would be a start, and then another floor cupboard in place of the metal unit. Also get rid of the toilet mat, they are unhygienic and old fashioned. Duck egg is a lovely colour to go with your beige bathroom, so if you want to carry on the theme get some nice towels either in duck egg or white. Get rid of the pink. When that is all done, you can dress the room with pot plants, either real or faux, and some nice hand wash on the sink. Here’s a few ideas for storage. If budget is tight, buy an old cupboard from a charity shop and paint it either white or match it with the tiling or a colour from the smaller tiles....See MoreBathroom Decor Help
Comments (10)We have a very small downstairs cloakroom and we've tiled half way up the wall all round in very large porcelain tiles in a pale cream and then painted the rest a very deep, blood red. So I think you could be a bit adventurous with paint and if you don't like it, you can always repaint. You have the benefit of a window, so it's not a pokey dark room. You could push the boat out and look at stunning wallpaper, like the Koi paper by Osborne and Little. I think a little loo is just the place to go bold. You could have shelves across the back in place of the cupboard, but in my experience, the towels and loo roll, make a lot of fluff in such a confined space and I think you'd be forever dusting or wiping the down....See MorePlease help me and my not so lovely champagne bathroom suite
Comments (10)I've been waiting for someone to ask me this :-) I think your first idea is a good one. You could go one of two routes: 1. part tile in white satin ceramic and edge with chrome or satin strip or a pencil tile - something from Original Style Glassworks range would look great but they are pricey- then paint two walls in a strong but not saturated blue toned grey: something like F&B Hardwick White or Little Greene's Urbane Grey and Inox - if possible get two shades on the walls. For the floor I would go with a grey and white lino check and accessorise as you've suggested - I would steer clear of anything orange that is going to accentuate the orange tone in the suite but ochre tones would work, for example macrame plant hangers. I would stick to chrome and satin nickel. Choose an off white for any woodwork - Flake White has a very slight hint of brown which would balance the champagne without you being conscious of it. 2. Again use white satin tiles and edge with chrome or satin nickel strip or a glass pencil tile but this time "lose" the champagne tone among other neutrals as you've suggested: from the Fired Earth colour card, shades like Canvas, White Ochre, Old White, Papyrus and again Flake white would work well. Again a grey and white check would work for the floor or even this wood effect, which picks up the brown tones. Accessorise with dark blue/grey accents and plenty of greenery. I always advise use of a sample board. Play about with paint samples. We sell painted A4 sheets for £1 each plus postage - cheaper than tester pots and more effective. If the different elements work together on the board, they will work in the room. Alternatively we offer sample boards to buy or hire - £30 or £15 respectively. Each board includes a range of compatible samples which you then pick and mix, eliminating what you don't like until you arrive at the scheme you want. Good luck!...See MorePlease help update my bathroom!
Comments (7)You could remove the bottom half of the wall tiles, add some wood panelling and paint dark blue or green. Replace the sink trap and taps (chrome, copper copper, brass etc). Install a nice wooden window cill and a statement mirror over the sink Lay some LVT click wood grain flooring or vinyl roll over the tile (with suitable floor prep) Since the space of so small you can try Ebay for second hand flooring, people are always selling their excess from a renovation. Alternatively, you could just bleach or regrout the current floor tiles. Some artwork on the walls maybe some shallow shelves for extra bog roll and mini plants....See MoreKate
