Architect coming tomorrow - what to expect from them?

Architect coming over tomorrow for free consultation.

Want to open up kitchen into dining room, doors onto garden, reposition the staircase from dining room to somewhere if possible.

I will of course tell them what I want and what my budget is.

What should I be asking them? What should I be looking for from them? Should I be telling them what things I don't want?

Should they come up with some ideas on the spot?

Just do not know what to expect.
