I think a light grey would enhance your table and chairs. You can add accents of brighter colours in small touches (kitchen herbs, fruit bowl,...) and some art on the table wall? The kitchen looks quite dark, you could consider letting more light in by leaving the blinds up and maybe change the ceiling lighting to halogen spots?

Hello, What a lovely living room, we love the fireplace, and even that you say that it doesn't get much light the windows look big! We would recommend you to keep the colour of the walls light, you could go for a very light grey (or even a white) to inject more light. You can then play a bit with colour with furniture, accessories, etc We are a small online design company that offers impartial, good value design advice. I know it's counter-intuitive, but I'd go deep saturated Blue/green...or Teal. All over. It will unify all the odd planes and angles in this room. Keep all the woodwork a fresh white. Use pops of jewel toned soft furnishings...to link the blue & taupe sofas...or... Use patterns in tribal/ ikat tones to keep it masculine. Build up some open shelving for storage along dead-wallspace near the door entrance to this room.

Have a look at F&B All White. It looks fresh but has a softness to it. You could have a dark feature but I’m not convinced it would be a good idea in a north facing room. Can I ask what colour your walls are at the moment? Here’s some pics of All White. There are other whites of course such as Pointing or Wimbourne White which are warmer. ALL WHITE WIMBOURNE WHITE

Hi Jessica, thank you for your kind comments; apologies, I am on holiday and have only just seen this. The colours are Morris Blue and Partridge Grey which are specific to PWS kitchen units. I hope that helps.
