POLL: A bedroom to call your own
Comments (15)A bedroom with a view is wonderful for waking up in the mornings... on holiday there is nothing better than waking up with a view of the sea and to be able to have doors on to a balcony wide open. At home I just want my bedroom to have a calming and cosy atmosphere but also to be full of things that are precious to me......See MoreHelp with a TINY loft bedroom
Comments (4)Hi. You would need to be very supple for this (!) but you could bring the bed forward and add a clothes rail behind. Use a curtain to disguise most of the storage. Layer the bed with cushions and throws so it becomes the focal point. Agree with headers re storage bed, look for one that front opens or has front drawers and store items in there that you don't need frequently. I'd use the cupboard for bags and shoes so as to try and keep the rest of the room as clutter free as possible. Can you paint the room? A cooler colour may make it feel very marginally bigger as the cream/beige looks a little warm. I'd keep the chest of drawers in the same as the ŵall colour so they blend in and add colour for cushions etc. Mirrors will make a room feel bigger but im not sure where they would fix. Perhaps go for a wider cabinet to the left of the door and add a free standing mirror on top? Or alternatively look at mirrored caninet/s...See MoreHelp redecorating our tiny bedroom
Comments (21)Are you sure you want to go industrial? The room looks like a cute little period bedroom not a converted warehouse (yes, I do know the industrial style is very fashionable at the moment). Personally, I like the idea of having a whole wall of curtains. Alternatively, is there a wallpaper with the same pattern that you could use on the wall? As you seem to like mid-century, vintage pieces too, I think I'd stick to that theme as it's more likely to really complement the room....See MoreHow to transform this tiny bedroom?
Comments (10)I also had a play at some layout options. What MATH suggested is exactly what I was thinking and what we have in our own bedroom which is very similar. So on the plans I’ve used a standard uk double size for the bed 135x195cm. Wardrobes are roughly 60cm in depth. The bed facing the window doesn’t work imo because there’ll be no room to walk round the other side. Personally I like the wardrobes fitted on the back wall which gives you room for a chest of drawers in the larger alcove and a large floor standing mirror or art work could go on the chimney breast wall. These are all rough estimates of the size of the room so definitely measure first if you plan to buy any new furniture....See MoreA B
