POLL: Spots or stripes?
Comments (10)I voted other. I love patterns with a repeat motif but based on the images shown I like dots/spots to be small and stripes to be more like the current Ralph Lauren wallpaper http://www.designerwallpapers.co.uk/ralph-lauren/signature-papers.html There is just so much choice - and so much fun to be had when decorating :-)...See MorePink & navy
Comments (7)Hi natalie. Why not mix geometrics? You could go for wide stripes, the chevron and maybe subtle spots. Maybe a grey and white striped feature wall, large chevron rug and throw and then plain or subtly spotted curtains (or add a pink bobble trim to plain grey ones). You can also get zig zag shelves so the emphasis is on the chevron. I love the bunting in this room as it looks more childlike. If you wanted more chevron look for a bedroom chair but maybe do it in the pink. Where is the navy coming in?...See MoreDark hallway with woodchip wallpaper
Comments (2)hi ya, It could be nice to paint the walls white as a blank canvas. You could paint the rail a contrasting colour - a vibrant colour like red and add some quirky, colourful art to the half landing area. If you can't afford art, buy some cheap frames from IKEA or the like (maybe buy 4 the same and group them in a square) and add nice wallpaper samples (you can buy your choice for about 5 Euro and some are even free). Or try a gallery wall as per below. If the hall is actually dark, try a large mirror (great if its is near the window as the light will reflect and will make the place brighter and larger). On a budget, look out for art at 2nd shops or charity shops - but be choosy! Best of luck!...See MoreDark hall with wood chip wallpaper
Comments (5)If you can borrow a steamer it would make the removal a bit easier, especially if you score the surface. Definitely get the crack looked at too. I can't tell the colour of the carpet, is it terracotta? Whatever it it, search through Houzz photos to look for colour schemes that include that colour to get ideas for the complimentary neutral wall colour D& K Interiors above suggests, And don't forget to post pics when you have done so we can see the transformation! By the way, if you have a pensioner relative, they can get 10% off at B&Q on a Wednesday!...See Moreminnie101
