Hello, We would agree with the other comments above. There is no rule that you must abide by but generally speaking if you are to have a two toned kitchen, lighter colours for wall cabinets and the darker colour would be used on the base units, as for the tall cabinet this is very much a 50/50 decision. Hello there, I was a rep for Benjamin Moore paints and have worked with a lot of paint colours - they have 3500 in the full collection! For a small room you need a colour with warmth in it a hint of yellow to reflect the light but it will predominantly depend on the colour and amount of light coming in to your room. I would be happy to order some large samples of colour sheets that are sprayed in the actual colour so you can check the tone works in your room free of charge. I would think a colour called Balboa Mist or around this tone would work, this is what the Americans call a 'Greige' a warm grey. Please drop me a email simren@jagdev.com. Thank you!

It's Schuller and the designer only drew what I wanted. He hasn't given me any alternative layouts yet. Do you think they will make another design for me before I sign the contract? To be honest, It's been so so hard for choosing a kitchen brand because of people's attitude in the North East. I went to Howdens and Wren as well as Bespoke but the owner of Howdens wasn't nice and didn't give me any information because I asked for a business account and mentioned about my builder who has a very good partnership with him. So he didn't want to give me any prices. Wren's designer was very rude and had a terrible attitude but I quite liked Wren's true handleless design only if I had a well mannered designer. Bespoke designer was very experienced and quite liked but they don't make true handleless. Also he said I have to be committed other than that he wouldn't give me any quote and if I am not buying it's wasting his time. I couldn't believe he said that. Lastly, I went to Schuller and I expected that it will be very expensive but it was actually a lot less than Wren and designer and the owner was so polite and quality in my eyes was very good. All in all quite happy with them except they don't make custom sizes.

Remodelling kitchen-can we take out existing units/worktops and re-use

Whilst there can be occasions when it may be more hassle/work to re-fit existing kitchen units into a completely new layout, this doesn't look to be the case with what you want to achieve. Your kitchen looks in good condition and you want to have a single run of units on the wall opposite your new sliding doors. As a carpenter & joiner I'm struggling to see any difficulty with such on the basis of the info you've provided. At worst you may need a new worktop or section of such and/or end panels. If you've got a full wall of units the opposite side you could potentially use some of those to form your new island (depending on what sort of configuration you have in mind), with the addition of new doors, heavier end panels & stone worktop to contrast. There shouldn't be any problem with re-using your range either (just check sizes), and £100 or so spent getting an oven cleaner in should have it looking great with your new layout, until you decide to replace it.
