hi - thanks a lot for the ideas, i would prefer to keep a window in each room ideally (idea1), and also I dont like having a bedromm close to the kitchen (idea2). what do you think of moving the bathroom between the current living room and master bedroom? I would have create a small entrance hall as well to avoid facing a wall straight in front of you when you enter the flat, happy to get your thoughts, have a nice weekend, thx!

To throw another idea into the pot: there are some lovely spaces and opportunities for views here, but furniture is oddly arranged and blocks the flow. If the dining table were to be centred in the dining area, dropping a light to pool onto the table, it would create a convivial atmosphere for eating, and a clear view of the garden for everyone. Plus, all the chairs can be used. This area would then feel more of a 'room', and less of a 'walk-through'. The new doorway then naturally leads through and frames the view to the garden. Instead of blocking this with the back of the sofa, place it along the rhs wall near the bedroom. For this size of space, I would probably choose two comfortable, low-backed, armchairs instead of a sofa. This gives you much more flexibility and you can either push them close together, facing the sofa with a rug/coffee table between, in sofa style, or position them at right angles near the left hand corner, perhaps with a lamp table squaring them off. You also then have the option of placing the sofa directly in front of the large window in the winter when the garden is bleak, with a chair either side, facing the log burner. Assuming you want to primarily use this room for chilling out with TV, I'd put the TV in the top lh corner. This location prevents the summer sun reflecting off the screen, and you will have the benefit of being able to watch it while eating and within the flexible seating arrangements. Alternatively, seeing the fire while dining creates a cosy atmosphere and you could swap it round. Ideally, plan the location of the TV and fire around your family lifestyle, this is matter of preference and there is an argument for both. Where is your plumbing/drains going to be? I at the back or on the right side where the old wc was? I was going to suggest using the 3m side next to the lounge for your wc & utility but if the plumbing is on the other side then it’s best kept there If that’s the case then few things to consider... Are you having doors across the back? Is your preference to have the dining area looking out into the garden OR the living/tv area? I presumed the tv room would be the old living area and the new lounge in the open plan would be more of a social/casual tv area. Are you wanting a kitchen island? Would be helpful to have some ideas of your ideal space to work out the logistics
