Comments (23)I love your new plan. You are right to make the doorway from the house to the bathroom, you only need a concrete lintel above it, the wall will be fine! ( Any builder can do this! ) Can you spin the bath round so that it's under the window though?? You will probably have enough room for a storage unit to the left of the door as you walk in. Aswell as running Bagpuss,... we are experienced property developers and i always do all of the plans, and purchasing of materials etc.........also, 50% of the labour with my husband most of the time. It pays to know what's possible sometimes. I get up really early, so, following on from your latest plan, I 3d'd it for you, as i had nothing better to do. The pictures are a little grainy but you get the idea x...See MoreWhere should I hang a mirror?
Comments (20)This is the final part of a whole house renovation and build. We're almost 6 months in. Taking the chimney breast out was our preference - it would have solved problems upstairs too - however due to some peculiarities in the way the house is constructed it wasn't possible. The understairs area is quite sizeable so we have opted to keep it open to increase the footprint of the room. It will have a desk for working from home and homework. We desperately need storage however I think it's the lack of symmetry that throws me out. I'd not considered tongue and groove - something to think about. Might look rather good. Also throwing light around with pics under glass is a great idea. I'd assumed I'd need to use mirrors. Thanks everyone for the great ideas....See MoreShould I repoint garden wall before painting?
Comments (4)I’m with Sonia. I think it’s a beautiful feature on its own and painting it reduced its character. Furthermore I don’t think that paint will last well and it could look shabby very quickly. In my opinion it would be better to preserve the integrity of the wall by replacing the crumbling bricks and repointing the parts that are poor. You might get the coping stones reset for longevity too....See MoreUser
