Great ideas! Thanks :) When I initially rearranged the room (and took out an entire wardrobe!) I measured and cut out all the furniture to the room shape and there really isn't a lot of scope due to built in wardrobes and a chimney breast running up one corner! Taking a door off one wardrobe allowed me to fit the draws where they are. I'm always open to further suggestions though! Should I draw out a plan for you?

I'm absolutely up for painting some of my furniture and the walls, probably not the bed as I haven't even finished paying for it yet! Your suggestion Kerry of the wood with white is nice though, however I'm generally quite a colourful person and worry a white room won't really be me! However the decoration at the mo was here when I moved in and is also not for me so I best get buying paint!!

Hi Laura. Which way does the room face? What's your budget and what kind of styles and colours do you like as there aren't really many photos of styles in your ideabook?

The room faces West I'd say, I get the sun in the evening! I guess my budget is pretty low, I try and do everything myself and as cheap as poss! So I'm willing to buy some paint and accessories but I won't buy new furniture, etc. And I honestly don't know what colours I prefer at the mo!! I'm a nightmare, I know! I've moved into a house and left everything as it was which has really taken away any inspiration to change it!! I'll add to my idea books now. I guess I'm a colourful person but this style could be a result of throwing a lot of rubbish into a room!! I'd love my bedroom to actually have some class and style as I don't feel lie any other room in my house does!! It's what you's probably class as eclectic and query at present :)

I'm assuming you like teal, so how about a feature wall painted teal behind the bed and a colourful rug (possibly hung on the blank wall)? Would it be possible to have a bedside table and mirror on the other side of the bed too for symmetry? If not I'd put a tall lamp or house plant there. Could you store anything under your bed, to try and reduce the furniture in your room further??

I understand that plain isn't to your taste so much. However, a great way around this would be to add colourful attributes to your room through accessories, such as cushions, bedding, artwork and throws etc. Keeping the bed at its natural colour would also be fine, as the other painted white furniture would actually provide quite a nice contrast against the beds natural colour.

Hi Laura. I like your (and Jen's) inspiration pic with Hague blue and greens. I might however paint all walls in it including radiator, skirting boards and the bedside cabinet (I might also consider at least the bedroom door). I think the colour works really well with wood so would leave the other furniture, If you like the botanical trend I'd create a headboard just behind the bed using mdf and wallpaper, the palm wallpaper is from b and q for £18. When trends/taste change you can easily and cheaply update it. I'd look at these pure linen Roman blinds from blinds 2 go hung outside of the recess to give some height (they're lighter online and will pick up the carpet colour and work out at £72 for a 90x90 blind). I'd layer the bed with blues and greens, a velvet throw would be lovely, this is from next at £50 for a single which you could drape over a cheaper throw. I'd move the bedside cabinet to the other side and therefore push the bed towards the radiator, then move the chest to the other side (and replace the wardrobe door) and have a potted plant against the chimney breast. Some more brass/gold would be nice for a table lamp but not sure of budget? The pendant lamp is from Laura Ashley, currently £49, but b and q also do one for £30

Ooo make sure you have a fluffy rug to sink your toes into when you get out of bed in the morning. It makes leaving your nest slightly less traumatic. Only slightly though.
