I have a ~15ftx10.5ft bedroom in dire need of a tidy up and re-design.
Comments (21)After many weeks of experimenting with furniture positions I have finally reached a conclusion which I'm happy with. I am selling the Ikea black desk which was too small and impractical for the room and replaced it with my old curved desk which now fits snugly in the South East corner of my room. I have also put the chest to good use which is now under the bed and will be replaced by 'weathered scaffold board' shelves on the South West wall which previously held my guitars. The guitars will be placed on the North East wall above my chest of drawers which are stacked and positioned next to the bed. I am still yet to decide however which wall should contain all of the photos and canvas'... Perhaps above the headboard. The speakers will be positioned accordingly once some shelves fill the South East corner wall above the desk and the 3 shelves have been positioned. The LP player along with the vinyls will be on the bottom shelf which is still in the process of design. Once this is complete.. I may have time to put hooks above Bob Marley's head for the cables.... If you believe I'm going the wrong direction with this please give me a shout. Pictures will be posted upon completion....See MoreBedroom redesign
Comments (9)What decor style do you like - country, contemporary, mid century? I decided to get white furniture when I decorated my bedroom. I find lots of wood overpowering, not saying I dislike it, just don’t want lots of it in a room. Would you be up for painting the bed frame? A nice off white would be a good start. Before choosing the wall paint I wonder if getting some bedding you like would be good, then pic a colour from it for the walls. Just an idea. You say you want a neutral but there are so many from off white to dark beige or grey. I’ve got Egyptian Cotton (Dulux) in my north east facing bedroom which I really like. I’m about to paint the wall behind the bed in a very soft plum (Laura Ashley Pale Iris) which will tie in with my LA curtains. I just needed more colour! Bedding is white. By the way I love Mrs Maths suggestion, very glam! Here’s some inspiration:...See MoreHelp needed to redesign master bedroom, en- suite and dressing room
Comments (4)Hi Emily, here are some pictures This is the corridor, we have tried to show the step back between the two walls, there is 877mm behind the mirrored doors. This is the end of the bedroom we proposed moving the bathroom to This end is where we thought the dressing area could go, blocking the first door from the corridor. We have taken down the stud wall that used to divide the room. En-suite which we proposed combining with corridor to make bedroom with door from landing at far end of en-suite. Any ideas would be gratefully received as we are going round in circles with our ideas. Thanks Amanda...See MoreBedroom - complete redesign - looking for ideas
