Mizzle by Farrow & Ball

We will shortly be having a staircase makeover. Our actual stairs have a wall each side with a return one side at the top which will have glass inserted in oak. The sides of the stairs will also have oak fitted.
I'm trying to decide on a wall colour bearing in mind that towards the top of the staircase it's relatively dark because of the walls.
I'm hoping for a green/grey colour and have noticed Mizzle by F&B. I know people on here recommend F&B but I've always used Johnstones paint so have no knowledge of F&B. So, has anyone used Mizzle and if so did you find it bright enough in a dull area?
The stair carpet will be swapped to mid grey.
Alternatively any other recommendations for paint shades?

We have Mizzle in our kitchen on the back wall, our kitchen is a middle room and can be quite dark .Sorry to say but I think Mizzle is best suited to a bright light space as it can be quite grey in the evening light.

Ok. Thank you for your thoughts. Any other suggestion for colour based on a greeny grey?

Ive just put ammonite on the exterior walls (another £5 tester pot!) and its more of a true grey than the bone white from fired earth (which has blue undertones). The shaded white looks beige next to it and so shaded white is out. Ammonite is in the lead. I'm hoping its not so pale that it looks dirty white and is grey enough that the old upvc windows still stand out next to it.

Had my shaker oak kitchen professionally resprayed with Elephants Breath, and the colour looks so different at certain times of the day! It mostly looks like a silvery flat chalk grey, and then occasionally your eye catches a more warm tone! I guess its to do with the light particles and reflections? The colour card shown on the above picture is not what the colour really looks like in my kitchen. I now wish id chosen a warmer putty colour, as i feel the grey in kitchen looks quite cold but im going to try and warm it up by accessorizing with baby pink pastel coloured kettle and toaster etc? Any advice would be appreciated?

I won’t share a photo for privacy reasons, but my neighbours have gone for shaded or shadow white. It looks very nice, but a lot will depend on the style of the house. Theirs is a 1930s house with brownish bricks below the render, brown roof tiles, and orangey-red hanging tiles.

Love the decor. The kitchen cabinets could be painted in a similar grey (F&B Railings or Downpipe comes to mind), or a lovely green like F&B Pigeon, but I wonder if a simple white would look good and then you could choose any colour you like on the walls? I’m not sure how hardwearing F&B eggshell paints are, but there are specific paints for kitchen cupboards by Dulux and Rust-oleum. There is also a paint brand called Frenchic which everyone raves about, but I’ve never used it. The current wall paint could possibly be Skimming Stone by F&B or Egyptian Cotton by Dulux, but this is just a guess.

Have you looked at Benjamin Moore paints there is a Supplier in Slough, Berkshire.

We have a cabinet in Mizzle in a darkish dining room and it brightens it up well. I have also just finished a whole kitchen makeover for a client in just that colour. She was delighted!
