Table lamp/floor lamp or not
Comments (3)Hi Firstly I love the light over the table it's fab! I do think the lighting needs layering up a little and I would probably introduce a lamp on the work surface in the kitchen and possibly add some lovely lanterns on the breakfast bar with candles. Also, could you buy some temporary under cupboard lights and pop them under your breakfast bar? I know it may not be as good as integrated lighting but it may also enhance the ambience of your kitchen/dining room. Another option could be to place a thin console table running along the wall and have a couple of small lamps there?...See MoreHanging bedside lamps versus wall-mounted or table lamps?
Comments (6)I like the look of the hanging pendant lights but do think it will be a passing trend. Not least because of the practicality issue of non-directional light that you've already mentioned. I used wall lights in the spare bedroom to save surface space on the small bedside tables. They're only cheap £16 ones from IKEA but I think they look nice all the same and they swivel so you can use them directionally. We needed plug in ones which limited our options but I covered the white wire in grey electrical tape to help it blend with the wall colour. (These ones also come in antique brass now which I think would look lovely with a contrasting shade). http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/lighting/wall-lights/%C3%A5rstid-wall-lamp-nickel-plated-white-art-60163881/...See MoreLamp / side table suggestions please
Comments (4)Thank you - argh that’s not good... I’ve already ordered the lamp and very large rug in the pics.. why are they still taking orders, will cross my fingers they come! Here’s pics of the lounge from a few weeks ago - the oak display cabinet and tv unit have since been replaced with the dark French style furniture. We are still waiting for the teal chair to be delivered so ignore the dark leather one. The dark leather ottoman has since been replaced with the grey bench. The side table there in the pics has since gone. And we will replace the floor and the new fireplace will go in as soon as lock down has lifted... can get more pics in the morning if that’s more helpful....See MoreDressing table lamp - what type?
Comments (2)I think you can go with whatever lamp fits your style. For it to be good for makeup application it’s more about the bulb. You should use a warm white bulb in whatever lamp you choose Another option could be putting a floor light or a wall night by the table - as table space can be limited...See More- 8 years ago
