Price range of Mereway Kitchens

Hi Jenny. I am about to start work on a similar project and am considering using Mereway for the kitchen. Can you please give me a general price range of your kitchen units (including countertops if from Mereway). Also, are you pleased with their service and quality? Many thanks.

Hi, the units were £16,000. The work tops were from another company. The quality of the kitchen is beautiful and with a wide choice of clever storage. I would certainly recommend.

Hello Karen, The copper tap is by Vola... In order to get it for that price it may be that you need to enlist the help of a lovely designer who might be able to offer you trade on it especially if you're doing the whole bathroom but I feel that this price is still under cost price to them. If you included something else or more of the same tap range for bath and or shower rose fittings you can then start to bring the pricing down individually.. It could also be that multiple purchases across their umbrella range bring the pricing down further.. A white (Off white) Concrete basin like the one I sent you on the other thread would be about £760 ex vat. I am saying this as I have a contact that deals with Vola and Kast... Should you be interested in a sink too... : ))

Thanks tamp75. It turns out the painter is only doing a white mist coat today & is returning later in the week so I have time to buy even more testers. LOL. He said I can paint the testers on the walls in the extension which should help as it is west facing whereas the playroom that I tested them on is east facing. We were originally going to go with Cornforth White kitchen cabinets but DIY's standard light grey was a lovely colour (&,cheaper!) so we went with that. I think if we'd gone with Cornforth White the decision making on the wall colour would have been easier!!

The simplest way is to shop around with one plan so you can compare like for like. So work out the layout either yourself or with an independent pro like us. Then email or drop your plans and item list into all the showrooms that offer the look you are after. That way you are giving the retailers/trade counter/online shop what they need to price it. You won’t feel beholden to any particular showroom who you may have asked to spend time designing for you and you don’t waste ( yours and their) time with different planners/sales people from lots of places who each want to come and measure up etc . I have an Ikea kitchen and most non Ikea appliances fit their carcasses no problem, apart from the dishwasher. We used John Lewis ovens, great, an Ikea freezer as it was cheap and easy to replace if it goes wrong, but the massive pain was the dishwasher. We bought their basic one and within a couple of months the heating element went. It took a lot of time to arrange an engineer to come out, he did and fixed it. Then the door was a problem, then the element went again. I thought, this time I will replace it with a John Lewis one, but they are NOT compatible. You can't put a non Ikea dishwasher in one of their low carcasses. I reluctantly had to buy another Ikea one, but this time got the one with a 5 year guarantee. The engineer said all the parts are the same, so it could go wrong again. Which magazine doesn't rate Ikea appliances very well so worth a look on there. All said and done, it's a small price to pay for a well designed kitchen that is really good value.
