It looks like you could swap the dining and living area around? That way you won't 'walk into' the rather large sofa when you enter the apartment. And you will not have that corridor that leads to the empty wall, so your focus will be on something else when you enter the apartment.

Would that be possible?

Dear Carolina, If I understood you correct is to move the sofa by the fireplace and the dining table where is the sofa ? First of all the sofa does not fit by the fireplace and second I have no place like foyer for hanging coat neither for shoes, that is the most important for me to make an arrangement that can include that as well. Thank you though for trying to help me. Any other idea ?

I would recommend 2 options a botanical style feature wall or have a selection of family photos or large piece of artwork. Either way, it's a great space you have, hope it works out, check out the images below.
