I am trying so hard to find pendant lighting like for over my island. Can you tell me the make? also are these black or oil rubbed bronze or other? thanks

These were from Circa Lighting and are oil rubbed bronze. https://www.circalighting.com/ceiling/pendant/

We removed 6 recessed spots from our breakfast room ceiling and replaced them with one central pendant light and it was the best thing ever! The lighting was always harsh even with trying all sorts of different bulbs and a dimmer but now it's transformed. We put off doing it for years as we thought it would be a major job and require re-plastering the ceiling but it was all done in less than 2 days. Our electrician did the wiring changes which didn't take him long and then the decorator patched the holes left by the recessed spots and used filler to blend them in. A coat of paint to the entire ceiling and you cannot see at all where the old lights were.

Fair point about cleaning Lucy. We have a bubble chandelier in our bedroom and I read a suggestion that using a hairdryer on the cool setting is a way to get the dust of. Ours have not been up that long and so far dust isn’t an issue, I’ve used the dryer once and flicked a feather duster around them. Not sure how they would be in a kitchen, given the potential for grease in the air. When we hung ours I wore a pair of cotton gloves and will probably wear them to wipe each globe from time to time. But they are spectacular and every evening when I turn the on, I feel great joy!

Pendants over an island are fantastic for mood and task lighting - as long as you maintain your extract system regularly they should clear most of the steam/moisture but you will occasionally need to clean the lighting so ensure it is easily removable etc. Be careful with glass over the food area just in case of an accident.
