Painting uPVC window frames
Comments (77)@Tani H-S Most professionals that refurbish uPVC windows will spray. You need the right equipment, you must prepare the surfaces properly before applying and most importantly you need the right paint (that properly bonds to the surface, has UV protection and thermal movement elasticity). If you don't use a professional and you have problems, you can always get a quote for new windows from YES Glazing Solutions - our windows are available in over 200 RAL colours! https://www.yesglazingsolutions.co.uk...See MoreGrey windows or play it safe with white?
Comments (30)Grey! I absolutely love a different finish to windows. I adore this window: Photo But perhaps you should got for a white internal frame to reflect daylight into your home unless you're going for a "designer" look inside too. You can easily design uPVC windows with online configurators such as this one http://bit.ly/2a556KD (full disclosure, this is a sister website of Sterlingbuild)....See MoreGarage colours?
Comments (17)Thanks. Yes I've looked at both paint options and have experience with zinssers which I used on most of the inside wood frames. I'm not 100% convinced with it outside due to the curing time. The upvc paint I've ordered a sample of has excellent reviews for upvc adhesion and I've spoken to the rep for the company to get an in depth knowledge of application etc. All looks straight forward but I can try it on the fascia first in the light grey as that can easily be replaced if it doesn't work or looks a mess. I'm pretty good at painting windows as I used to restore stained glass and often had to paint them in situ afterwards etc. I can't afford to get anyone in although I will ask locally to see if anyone has experience with the paint and get a price....See MoreWhich colour windows for my ex council Home?
Comments (11)Hello, I love what Gary has done to his. The windows in that deep grey, almost black, look so smart. If t was my house I would go the same colour with guttering and downpipe, or even traditional black. It’s funny how planners refuse planning permission on anything a bit different. My sister is refurbishing her house soon. It’s a very plain 1950’s house in a yellow cream brick and she wanted a more interesting frontage of slate and render. The planner said no as it wasn’t in keeping with the other dull, yellow, rather ugly houses! They have no vision! She is, however, having anthracite windows....See Moresksj1
