Favourite place to shop for upholstery fabric?

Hia,

I recently ordered a headboard and have had nothing but hassle from the company not sending additional fabric I had paid for for an ottoman I had arranged to have reupholstered.

As such, I've decided to source fabric elsewhere for the ottoman however I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to shop.

My headboard is a beige linen and I'm looking for a beige fabric, I know it's unlikely I'll get an exact match but would like a store/online shop that has patterned options to hopefully tie them together.

Where do you like to shop for upholstery fabric?

I love Osborne and Little as well as Dedar, they are both fantastic. They are able to send you samples and give you help on your headboard. The best thing to do is send them a picture of the sample or the name and they will try and match it. If not try going into Chelsea Harbour as there are lots of upholstery fabric companies. http://dcch.co.uk/showroom-list?cat=Fabrics

Don't know where you are based but if you could make a trip to Carlisle there is the amazing Stead McAlpine factory shop. They produce fabric for John Lewis, Laura Ashley amongst others. Lots of variety and well worth a visit, especially on sale days!

We may not share artistic values but we do share one good thing... love and our life together - he's simply your typical man who loves to lounge around even when covered in dirt! We may have completely different ideas for our home but he is a good egg :) Anyway I do believe we have found common ground... surprisingly he really likes my idea of using grey with bright colours. We have agreed that as long as I stop forcing him to endure flamingos or similar, he will put up with me buying vintage and completely unnecessary furniture. He's said I can do whatever I want with those awful armchairs... WIN! I think we are going with man friendly greys meets pops of colour/vintage. It's pay day next week and I simply can't wait any longer!! Having said that... some ideas for what style of vintage and arrangements will be wonderful! Here is the photo from my kitchen door - anything attached to the walls were already there from the previous residents and will be removed... such as the mirror which isn't in line with that hideous folding table and the strange religious wall in the corner.... plus the half finished wallpaper on the chimney breast lol. x

@Nekul I have to be honest, the answer to my dilemma was: I stopped shopping haha I genuinely have bought very little since making this post, simply because I couldn't find what I'm after. The most likely places for me to spot the odd piece I like are Sweetpea & Willow (not exactly affordable), Swoon and Rockett St George. I occasionally buy from Maisons Du Monde or La Redoute but both don't offer value for money (or a great shopping experience - items lost in transit or arriving damaged). I did stumble across J N Rusticus, though, which - if that's your style - I can highly recommend. My all-time favourite is still the US based CB2 which do ship internationally but not all items and only if you spend a minimum of $5000....

I am originally from Liverpool and have visited Abakan over the years, so sad to hear that it’s a bit of a disappointment now. There is another place over the road from the Stafford Street one, is that any better? Next time I am visiting folks, I am tempted to pop up to Lancaster to http://www.standfast-barracks.com/. I understand this is the permanent Style Library factory shop and they are the company behind brands such as Zoffany, Sanderson, Harlequin. William Morris, Anthology ... might be more curtain, upholstery and soft furnishing fabric, but definitely potential for some gorgeous design.

I’ve bought fabric for curtains and blinds online from Fashion Interiors in Coventry. I bought some Scion fabrics from them and had Roman blinds made up locally. The fabrics were good quality (not seconds) and arrived on rolls so less ironing. They do all the well known brands. I couldn’t find any suppliers locally.
