QUESTION FOR 'LIVE' CHAT - FRIDAY.
Comments (3)Hi, I'm building a house from scratch. We have just reached the second fix stage and the downstairs loo has no natural light in it so thought I would go for the dark luxurious look. It has very tall ceilings in this small room and a single hanging pendant facility so I'm going to have to go for something which is on a long wire I suspect. It will have dark grey granite surfaces with mahogany furniture and small mosaic gold and dark grey tiles as a splashback. Above the single run of tiles I am having a little shelf also made from mahogany furniture with lighting underneath to shine upon the tiles. I'm having a blank as to what sort of light I should hang in the middle.....single bulb, large lampshade, multiple leds ?? What would look best to achieve a darker mood, luxurious feel please?...See MoreWhite or silver led flush ceiling lights for kitchen diner?
Comments (9)Hi Claire, as Litecraft have already pointed out it does depend on what you are going to have in the rest of your kitchen but for me I would go with the Chrome option as think it will make your lights stand out more. If you want to go for something different to chrome there is also a satin nickel option too like this one which isn't as shiny as the chrome options like the one below. As there are quite a few different options you can have a look at our range by clicking this link: Downlights Also you didn't mention if you was having round or square lights so you can see the square options here as there are many available which you can also have as twin, triple of even quad options! Comments (1)Hi Angelique, In interior design we treat each room differently in terms of their look and feel. Whilst you can create flow from one to another by no means does everything have to match! In fact we try not to make everything match-matchy when designing as it can look too curated and unconsidered. What you could do, is create a style which has similarities and has little nods to one another. You could go for similar lighting in your empty areas as the kitchen and dining but don't have to be identical. e.g. 3 or 4 different styles of industrial lighting. Hope that helps Rukmini Patel Interior Design...See MoreLiving/kitchen area lighting design? High ceilings, small space.
Comments (3)Hi KB, Yes this sounds great for the kitchen so that you have focused task lighting for the prep area and the dining area. In regards to the living area I would always suggested softer more indirect lighting as this will create a softer more relaxed ambience. Opt for wall lights, free standing lamps and table lamps all with LED warm temperature bulbs. If you do want to add a central ceiling light i would definitely recommend adding a dimmer too so the lighting level can be changed to suit the time of day. Hope this helps do feel free to message directly if you have any further questions I offer consultation by the hour for any questions you may have ὠA...See MoreAby
