Vertical radiator help - which brand, colour, size?

Hello, I'm looking for vertical radiators to go either side of the walls where my sliding doors are ( in extension ). The width of the wall will be 55cm.

Can anyone recommend any good brands and the size ( width of radiator ) that would be most suited to width of the wall?

My kitchen and walls are going to be a white and modern style than traditional so I'm probably going to go for a modern looking radiator. Do you think white radiators will look good ( blend in with wall ) or should I choose grey?

Probably anthracite grey or any other dark shade of grey

My skirting and architraves are an F&B colour called "clunch". The floors are stripped Victorian planks, and hallway walls are a combination of stripped brick and F&B "pointing". One column rad is mounted on the brick, one on a painted wall. I had the same question as you, and went for a bare metal lacquered finish, and polished the copper pipework from the floor. It looks great and is a bit different! The radiators are from Revive Radiators, by the way, and they come in white and grey too. I recommend them - high quality construction and finish, and they perform well too.

Thanks KWG - this is not good but there is always a solution. 1. The most hassle-free and least bothersome to the plumber is to increase the thickness of the wall. For condensation issues your plasterer has raised, you should ask for 'foil-backed' plasterboard. These are vapour panels that block or limit condensation. Get the best rated one. 2. The alternative is to change your radiators to a configuration that allows the pipe to attach from behind and the valves attach from underneath (see image). It will save you a crucial 8-10cm. Thanks all for your replies. One of the radiators will be in a newly built extension which will have plastered walls. The extension will be separate to the old part of the house which contains the chimney breast and majority of the kitchen. If I had a white radiator in the old part so as not to detract from the features, would or should the radiator in the new extension be white or would it work as a feature if black? I should also say that the majority of the extension is glass and bio-fold doors with anthracite frames. For some reason I’m having a mental block over the radiator colour... Are you going to have curtains on each side? if yes then white radiators. If not then contrast colour is more in fasion now. We have white and curtains. We installed italian aluminium radiator with excelent heating characteristics. If you are interesting I can find brand.

You need to take the size of the room and other radiators into account too, to calculate the heat output you need. I think :-)

What about an Outline radiator from the brand Eskimo?

They can be made to any size, and customised with wireless controllers. They are very high performance, but energy efficient and unobtrusive. See if you can spot the two hidden in this room:
