What would you do with this off-centre fireplace?
Comments (63)HI Sarah I love what you have achieved. Many congrats for embracing what you have and creating something that totally enhances the placement of the fireplace. The space looks like it was made for the placement of that perfect chair and you've done a gorgeous job with your selection and placement of art . I am moving with considerable grief from my gorgeous arts and crafts bungalow to an early1970s small house. I have to say this style of architecture in NZ wasnt exactly a highlight. But I set myself a challange to embrace the architecture and look to enhance rather than fight it . That challenge shifted me off my despair track and now I am excited and hopeful and thinking about space and colour and the amazing light pouring in (a quality of houses of this time)..and textures . i feel so cteative in new and diffetent ways...and it's so exciting. seeing what you have achieved - it is very affirming for me I love what you have created....See MoreHelp redecorating our tiny bedroom
Comments (21)Are you sure you want to go industrial? The room looks like a cute little period bedroom not a converted warehouse (yes, I do know the industrial style is very fashionable at the moment). Personally, I like the idea of having a whole wall of curtains. Alternatively, is there a wallpaper with the same pattern that you could use on the wall? As you seem to like mid-century, vintage pieces too, I think I'd stick to that theme as it's more likely to really complement the room....See MoreWC Inspo Please!
Comments (10)It’s a lovely cloakroom actually, a perfect base. Now what we suggest is to paint the walls in a colour you like, put up some ART in elaborate frames and maybe spraypaint the floor tiles with the help of some pattern stencils you can get on etsy. It will be a total transformation and the result will be amazing-and the best part it won’t cost a fortune ;)...See Morebalance off centre fireplace
Comments (7)Hi. I think it would help to see the rest of the room and the layout ie i.e. Can the tv go elsewhere? I think your eyes are drawn to the window so you may find a blind will help. Ignore the bits I've added but I think a tall piece of art will help draw your eye to the fire so it becomes the focal point and I think a chair will help. I'm not sure if this is what you meant by balance the wall though or whether it would work in your room...See Morejulie herbert
