find theme for new furniture

bought a set of new furniture and looking at building a theme that includes flooring wall paint or wall paper and accessories, looking for ideas on theme and flooring

I want something that goes with the furniture, especially the living room(see living room furniture)

New colour theme for small living room

Hi linda. What colours do you like as the sofa is neutral so you can really choose. I think I'd go for a warmer neutral on the ŵall. See attached or Little Greene have a great range http://www.farrow-ball.com/yellow-based-neutrals/content/fcp-content I'm not sure how bumpy the ŵalls are but could you try lining paper? The high the grade the more it should cover I think. I'd paint the shelves in the ŵall colour. Is the wallpaper new or are you redoing? If it's not new perhaps a modern geometric paper? Assuming you like green why not add lighter Browns, warm whites and greens for cushions, throw etc? I'd also add a round mirror over the fire and perhaps paint the surround, if you went for a green accent something like light bronze greene by little greene may work then add some warm metallic accessories (if you like mixing metals!) Perhaps a sisal for the floor to add texture. They are very hardwearing but check the maintenance to see if it is for you. I'd move the coffee table in front of the sofa. Do also add cushions to the chairs. Perhaps try a more classic style arc lamp behind the chair? Roman blinds should work well. How big is the cabinet under the shelves? Just wondering if the tv could sit on that

This may or may not help as it will require further internet research but I recently saw an episode of 'Selling Houses with Amanda Lamb' in which a woman transformed her courtyard in to an Eastern paradise. Not my taste but nevertheless it looked fantastic!. The only bit I can remember (with it not being something I'd do) was that I think she painted the brickwork/walls a bright turquoise. Seriously though if you can Youtube the episode, google the programme, Facebook Amanda Lamb, whatever it would be worth a watch for inspiration.
