What kind of stone did you use on the fireplace and back of the bar? What did you use for the top of the bar material? Thank you!

Hello, fireplace and back of the bar is a split faced zebrano marble tile. Countertops are cosmos. 4 slabs thick!

Looks very smart. Do you know if that's actual wood veneer on the front or a faux vinyl (as with Duravit)? Funnily enough we called in the new Bauhaus brochure just last week and looking forward to receiving it.

Thanks, Donut. It has taken a long time, but we are finally getting towards the end. We decided to play it safe in the end, and installed hardwood sash windows that come factory spray painted in a warm white. They look really lovely, but now in contrast, the exterior render looks so awful that we will have to do that now! (Bit back to front as this should have been done before the windows, but things don't always work out as they should!). Also, keep meaning to remove that nasty little black plant pot which I only ever seem to notice on photos...

if you have an Apple store close to you, they have FREE workshops during the summer holidays for 8-12 year olds http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/learn/youth/ if you a parent lucky enough to be able to spend the summer holidays with your children and need ideas to keep them entertained, lots of city museums (not just london - think Chester, Liverpool, Manchester, etc) have days for children, usually free (or just a few £), where there are all sorts of activities or treasure hunts throughout the museum - not something you normally think about but a different day for the kids. Take a packed lunch or picnic to eat in a nearby park - very cheap day out! The same goes for National Trust properties, just google any that are close to you.
