First home! Living room...
Comments (13)Congratulations, a really exciting time. At the moment your head will be racing and you will have so many ideas. I think you should make yourself a mood board of anything you see and like ( any scrap of paper from magazines to fabric or to photos you can snap on your phone). Sit down on a quiet night and close your eyes and feel the room and imagine what you can see open your eyes. have a drink of your choice and then start writing and looking at your board and this will help with what you would like to see in your room. This normally helps when you really are unsure. Enjoy....See MoreInspiration desperately needed!! Need serious outside the box thinking

When it comes to décor and furnishings these choices can be easy as there are lots of sources of inspiration, trends to follow and distinctive styles to decide between. When it comes to finding the right flooring for each room in your home, we can provide the source of inspiration, as we have hundreds of floors to choose from. Whether you’re looking for flooring for your hallway, your bathroom or your living room, here are some ideas for inspirational flooring for every room in your home. Hallway Flooring Make the entrance to your home set the tone for the rest of the décor with a quality and luxurious engineered wood floor. This area of your home sees a lot of traffic, so it makes sense to have a hard wearing, low maintenance floor in place which will give you years of use. Depending on the size of your hallway and how much light it gets, you will normally decide if light or dark wood is best for you. For inspirational light wood flooring for your hallway, we think you’ll love the Chelsea Engineered Herringbone Parquet Flooring White Wash Oak floor, for a striking and elegant way to create a sophisticated entrance to your home. Find all our hallway flooring options online. Kitchen & Utility Room Flooring Your kitchen and utility room floors need to be capable of withstanding everyday wear and tear, as well as an increased resistance to water damage, which is very damaging to wood floors due to their absorbent properties. For this reason, a good quality laminate wood floor, like the Hydro Guard Walnut laminate is a great choice for both style and practicality. You may also be interested in a tile effect flooring, which offers the same great features as the laminate floor but with a stylish tile replica finish. Our customers love this light and bright Balterio Purestone Limestone in White for transforming their kitchen. Living Room Flooring Your living room is a space where you’ll want to invest in quality pieces, as you’ll be spending a lot of time in this room relaxing or entertaining. Depending on your personal décor preferences, you can choose to go as minimalistic or as rustic as you like – and we have inspirational floors to suit both tastes, and everything in between. For a super sleek and contemporary living room, why not consider this Elite Stone Light Screed tile structure floor which replicates a natural looking stone floor? At the other end of the scale, we have cosy, rustic looking floors guaranteed to bring warmth, character and charm to your living room – just take a look at the Axion Avignon Oak floor for starters, which is one of our bestsellers. Inspirational flooring for every room in your home Bathroom Flooring Always be certain the floor you are buying is suitable for a bathroom by checking the individual product specification – otherwise you’ll end up ruining a good floor beyond all repair. Your bathroom floor needs to be water resistant and able to withstand heavy water exposure and steam without delaminating. We love this Balterio Grande Wide Oak Laminate Flooring against the crisp clean white bathroom suite for a contemporary yet comfortable style bathroom. Bedroom Flooring Your bedroom flooring tastes are completely personal to you – where do you start? Colour, board thickness, wood species, finish type and shade are all to be considered. There are lots of inspiring designs on our website – why not search our entire range of bedroom flooring to get a feel for the type of flooring that best suits you?...See MoreInspiration needed! Any suggestions on how to use marble in the home?!
Comments (5)Assuming it’s not enough material for worktop in a utility room/boot room you could also put the marble on top of a table or washstand or butchers block. You might decide to have shelves covered in it in your pantry to keep things cool or have it cut into smaller pieces for use as chopping boards/ serving platters. You might consider cutting it into tiles for the cloakroom floor, have it cut into a round for more than one side table. You could set it into the middle of something larger such as the patio or hall floor, use it as a hearth for a fireplace, use it to bottom a reflecting pool in the garden or use it in the front garden to mount a house sign or number. You have suggested it doesn’t match the house- by having the finish of the stone “leathered” you will make it quite different....See MorePatrina
