Comments (6)I agree with @Oasis PS, the best for the space would be a LED tape along the base, that could be expensive, depending on where you buy it from: https://www.lightingstyles.co.uk/built-in-plaster-in-flush-lighting/seamless-recessed-linear-lighting-systems/micro-blade-channel-lighting-system http://www.gwsupplies.co.uk/shop/electrical/ansell-lighting/ansell-aspen-led-link-light-with-integral-driver-300mm-x-6w/ An ingenious electrician can fix that chandelier for you using just wires across the width of the skylight. With a bit of imagination, any lamp can be fixed there, it depends though on how bothered you are by cable/wires showing. My suggestion though will be to choose a different light fitting than the Next one. The main reason is size - 45 cm is rather tiny compared to the size of the space you have there - it will look out of proportion. Maybe if you get two?... Cable lighting can look like this: One of my neighbours has this Kundalini light under her skylight - it looks great! https://www.davidvillagelighting.co.uk/product/Kundalini_Shakti_Sky_200/11131 I don't know what else to recommend, I think you should have a serious discussion with the builder&electrician and ask about their suggestions - I'm sure they can come up with a solution. Good luck!...See MoreWhere should I hang a mirror?
Comments (20)This is the final part of a whole house renovation and build. We're almost 6 months in. Taking the chimney breast out was our preference - it would have solved problems upstairs too - however due to some peculiarities in the way the house is constructed it wasn't possible. The understairs area is quite sizeable so we have opted to keep it open to increase the footprint of the room. It will have a desk for working from home and homework. We desperately need storage however I think it's the lack of symmetry that throws me out. I'd not considered tongue and groove - something to think about. Might look rather good. Also throwing light around with pics under glass is a great idea. I'd assumed I'd need to use mirrors. Thanks everyone for the great ideas....See MoreRykki Kriner
