what is the herringbone tile in photo?

I’m looking for mud room-front door entrance to my farmhouse and in front of my weathered red brick fireplace that my fireplace screen will rest on. Who sells this?

Metro tiles are very versatile but also extremely popular. If you want to be slightly more original, choose the kit kat (longer, thinner) format instead. The herrigbone pattern looks fantastic with those. Explore other tiling suggestions if you think herrigbone looks too busy.

Hi Barney, That sounds fab and I'm sure it will look beautiful. Just a quick comment on parquet / herringbone tiles after some recent experience on our renovation project, you probably know this already but I didn't and it ended up as quite an expensive learning for us; cutting tiles to a herringbone pattern is super time consuming! No problem if you get a fixed price upfront or are doing it yourself but having just had our new walk in shower tiled (2m x 1m) in a herringbone pattern I was astounded by how long it took and the complexity of all the 45 degree cuts! It looks stunning but I selected the tiles and pattern with aesthetics in mind and definitely with no comprehension of the cost implications :) Best wishes, Claire

Hello Art of Flooring, yes we've also had a few people interested in chevron recently, its great for making a design statement isn't it. Wide plank flooring is eternally popular and herringbone in all shapes and sizes is really in demand. We're also doing lots of refurbs on original parquet floors at the moment, as I'm sure you are too?!

Thanks for the interest, we decided on dark grey ('graphite') in the end and I'm happy as I think it goes well with our dark grey cupboards. We will put a pale oak shelf above to match our floor and bring some colour in with plants etc. These are the tiles if anyone is interested.
