Blinds or Curtains on gable end windows?
Comments (41)Hi Nikki, we went with Thomas Sanderson blinds and originally went with the manual version but they didnt work very well so they upgraded our blinds for free to the battery operated version and they are great. Not 'blackout' as advertised but still pretty good. We paid around £4000 I think but if we were to have paid for the battery blinds it would have been £7500. Wish there was a better option but they seemed to be our only choice that would ensure our view was unobstructed and the room was dark. Hope that helps!...See MoreBay window.. curtains, roman blinds?
Comments (2)You will get light coming through with any blinds at the edges where they meet. Maybe you could change to shutters? I still think you'll get a little diffused light through those. If you don't want the expense of the shutters and or still want to go for black out curtains, then have them sill length and pull them round the bay....See MoreCurtain or roman blind?
Comments (9)Heatherbroadbent. Your comment made me chuckle as my husband likes to help choose furnishings, but he really hasn't a clue. I'm going to have Roman blinds in my kitchen and bathroom and I showed him what they were. He said he didn't like the pattern (!) - I was showing him the style of blind not the fabric, it was just an example..........they really should leave it to us you know haha. Hope all goes well for you....See MoreLarge window at end of narrow hallway... roman blind or curtains?
Comments (25)You can get a wide enough kit. I’ve seen them up to 2.4 m wide, such as this one below. https://www.curtainsandblinds4homes.co.uk/Deluxe-Roman-Blinds-Kits-Cassette-1-1-Ratio-upto-6Kgs/Roman-blind-kit-cassette-240cms. I’ve recently finished one that’s 210 wide & it doesn’t sag in the middle at all so a bit wider should be ok. Just a pain to join the fabric for a wider blind. However, as the window is quite low, I wonder whether long curtains might provide a better finish. Agree that eyelet curtains wouldn’t create too much bulk & look nice stacked back at the side of the window. I found eyelet curtains much easier to make than Roman blinds!...See MoreHU-504571791
