Hi Lilly! Well... I have to be honest and admit that I was thinking about lying and saying it's great, etc. The truth is: I've never used it! not once. I'm a shower girl and it's not that I won't take a bath (I would, I promise I'm not whiffy!!) it's just that since we've moved in, I never had the time or felt the need. Plus, I feel guilty and uneasy thinking of the amount of water I'd waste filling up that monster (and we have a second tub in the loft bathroom that's smaller -- never used that one either...) When we chose the tub, I think hubby and I were a bit nostalgic; I used to have this huge hideous burgundy corner bath in the house I bought just before we met and let's just say, we used to like taking baths together (hmmmm...). So we went for a large one, I guess both thinking of our almost decade old adventures'! I did however undertake an experiment for you: I went and laid in it, just to see how it is. I'm 1.62m (about 5'4'') and with a slight bend of either knees or neck, you can sleep quite comfortably in there. I also thought it could be a great hiding place in case of 'god forbids': fill half of it with water, add bubbles and submerge - it's enough to cover all of you & hopefully nobody will think to look for you in there! :)) I've digressed ... not sure if I answered your question. I've resorted at hoovering it; just rinsing it with water didn't do it.... But hey! it looks great and generates questions on Houzz, so I guess it has its uses, right?!! :))

Update -- my plumber finally returned. Not sure what he did while here, but he told me again it wasn't working -- then he did some work on a radiator which had a small leak. We were having a long discussion about options on pumps, new showers, taps etc and I read out the installation guide and he tried it again, and suddenly it worked. It is bizarre as I don't know how many times i tried it previously. My friend who works in construction ALSO called earlier today and tried it several times to no avail. It must have been extremely stiff or perhaps the plumber realised some airlock whilst fixing the radiator since I think water pressure is much stronger since he went. Thanks for everyones help -- i learned lots on plumbing and a valuable lesson to take out the installation manuals myself and not trust that trades men know everything!!! I feel like celebrating!!

Beautiful bathroom! Love your floor tiles. Our bathroom (mainly bathstore too!) was just finished a week and half ago in a black/white/grey colour scheme, a mix of classical and contemporary styles. I agree with what others have suggested about adding colour with plants (orchids maybe?), towels, bath mat and pictures but have you thought about painting the mirror cabinet unit? Annie Sloan chalk paint is great as coverage is good and no priming is required. Also colourful bottles of bath and shower gels, shampoo and conditioners can liven up a bathroom. Molten brown stuff or even decanting into ornate glass or ceramic bottles can add a touch of glamour to your bathroom.

We have a set up which is pretty good, I think: We have the Bette Ocean bath which has a large internal size, and one straight end, so is good for showering in. Any bath with fairly slim sides and one straight end should work. We have a glass bath screen that folds inwards flat against the wall. For this you need a screen that pivots 180 degrees (ours is by Matki iirc). Our shower head is mounted high up so the screen clears it. The bath/shower controls are on the other wall so not in the way of the shower screen either - also avoids the wet arm issue. Finally, we have a bath filler mounted on the side of the bath, so no tap to bump against. hope this helps
