Finishing touches for our bathroom!
My husband has just finished our bathroom but now I don't know how to add the finishing touches.
These are the photos of our bathroom. We just need to fit the bath screen so the white curtain you see is just a temporary solution.
As you can see we have to add pictures and accessorise the whole room. We have a classic taste so we wouldn't go over the top with colours or accessories. We just want something simple that will complement the grey and white style we chose. What plants or style pictures? What colour frame to use?
Any ideas will be appreciated!

Comments (9)Hi. The bathroom is looking good! I'm also not convinced by the praticalities of the shelf as the bath also looks quite close to the ŵall so you may bang your head etc? I would paint the bath ŵall in a dark or rich colour and then add a really large frameless mirror. I'd add a wooden stool with a little tray for toiletries and either an orchid or small plant (similar to pic). I'd go for a round wooden mirror over the sink. Do you have a central light? Comments (25)I wouldn't change much regarding the layout/placement of white goods either. But it'd be possible to get some extra. For example, an L- or P-shaped shower bath would get a nicer shower space. You'd end up with the wider part by the window though so may then also consider opaque glazing or a screen there. A concealed cistern in the back wall would bring that forward by around 10cm. If you don't want to loose all that space, a boxed-in cistern and shelves above may give you a little storage back. On the washing machine: you triggered my inner geek :-) This may be possible. You need to research a few things for this: A) a slim depth washing machine (usually 425mm) B) availability of a height reduction kit for it (if these are avail gets height down from 850mm to 800mm) C) use an extra-flat bottle trap for the basin D) partly embed that into a thin washtable (to make the surface then a total of ~100mm above the machine) If all these go together it should just be possible to fit washtable, drains, basin trap and the machine underneath into a box about 910x600x500mm (HxWxD) which is kitchen unit height. The countertop sink would sit above that. Maybe a little bit of extra space could be gained still if you'd construct a basin from a flat shower tray with an integrated trap (a Wedi fundo plano is 60mm high) but I'm not sure how to put the washing machine drain on then. 6 years agoI think I'd go for a shelf with a couple of plants and storage jars on. Possibly another mirror above it. I would keep the white shower curtain it looks great. Beautiful bathroom but really not fan of your bath mat so I'd remove that.

I would add some fake green plants and I agree with having another mirror - maybe above your radiator. And I would add a nice big print / photo onto the wall nxt to you toilet.

6 years agoLovely bathroom, very similar to my own which was just completed last week. I very nearly opted for those floor tiles too! I also have a bath screen, it works very well and makes the space look and feel bigger. Have you considered changing your mirror unit? 6 years agoI've still a bit of work to do on my own bathroom - shall be painting this week, and then the finishing touches like yourself. Not a very good pic, but it gives you the idea. At the end of the bath I have a grey vanity sink unit and on the wall opposite the bath is a traditional style towel radiator. I think I should have continued the metro tile halfway up around the walls like in yours - it looks good and would have meant less painting!!!

We have a similar style of bathroom. Things that made a big difference were plants and a decorative shelf (our shelf has hooks at the bottom for towels and also holds our first aid kit). Maybe think about a wooden bath mat? It would add a bit of warmth and break up the grey.
