I helped my Dad build a fire pit in his garden, he made wooden seats to sit around the metal fire pit with old stone columns for extra seating (unfortunately you can't see the actual fire-pit as behind the stone bench). Lots of stories and fun are had around it until deep into the night. If you have the space it is a great addition to put in! Shannon

Hi. I'd remove the breakfast bar. What may work is wooden shelves either side of your tall units using infills at the side so effectively a mix of these 2 pics. Use the shelves for stacking your bowls and plates etc with a couple of decorative accessories. I can't quite see though whether this gives enough space for the sink? Do you also have a row of plug sockets either side? If this isn't do'able what may possibly work is If you continue the worktop under those 2 cabinets. I'd get a tester of a similar colour paint and just paint underneath to see what you think. I'd then just a splashback behind the hob. I'd then add texture for accessories as colourhappy said. The lights don't appear to be placed suitably for a pendant so perhaps a swing arm or arc lamp over the dining table will add interest and height.

ED Thank you for your posts, As a quick guide when comparing the efficiency of steel doors to timber or UPVC doors , the U -value should be looked at, the lower it is the more energy efficient the door would be. For doors where more than half of the whole door area is glazed (patio), look for a U value of 1.8 W/(m²K), or better (lower). The U- value of our steel doors is 1.50 W/m2K The U – value for standard external wooden door would have a u-value of 2.5-3 W/m2K The U – value for UPVC doors will be between 0.9 – 1.5W However, our steel Windows and Doors got thinner and more delicate frame. Their slender lines appear to lose weight and give lightness to the frames, emphasizing the transparency of a facade. This elegance is difficult to match with the bulky profiles of alternative materials.
