Advice on Kitchen Worktop
Comments (3)Hi Depending on your budget another option is the Granite Transformations product a 6.5mm thick solid surface with a material life time guarantee that is designed to fit on top of your existing worktops. Although, as you have wood worktops which need to be allowed to breathe, we would need to remove your existing wood worktops and replace them with a new substrate. All of this could be done in just one days and usually costs between £2 - £4 thousand pounds. If your budget allows this is definitely the way forward. Good luck. Comments (5)Hi I recognise that plan! Good to see you on another advice forum. Duropal make I think around 6 of their colours of laminate worktop upto 1200mm in depth. Really it all depends on where you are getting your kitchen from and their suppliers. For example if we are getting laminate worktop from a UK supplier then we get it from a 'cut and edge' worktop supplier, not just a 'blank' board supplier. A cut and edge worktop supplier will supply laminate worktop to a plan we provide, they will pre cut the masons mitre joints and profile all the edges. This is so much better than the fitter cutting blanks and gluing on laminate edges. I know from previous discussions on the other forum you were looking at Schuller kitchens, I assume this is not your choice now as you would not have these problems you are talking about with the laminate worktop, because Schuller have a huge range of laminate worktops, with lots of edge options and in all sizes! Anyway, ask your kitchen man about getting a price for the laminate worktop from a cut and edge specialist. CK...See Moreadvice on worktops
Comments (2)There are lots of worktops available at 3600 and 4m long. Look at Formica Axiom, Formica Prima, Bushboard, Duropal, Egger and many own brands. Don’t put a joint where water may leak on to it by a sink. Formica have just released their new range but to the best of my knowledge the worktops are not yet available. Many worktops are still hard to source so if you see something you like buy it while you can....See MoreKitchen help I need advice on floor tiles, backsplash, worktops.
Comments (3)Hi, its a really nice space I know you mentioned you like the country style, you could incoporporate some wooden paneling similar to the image below for your wall and backsplash as it give a rustic vibe. Alternativly sage green tiles would lokk really nice and still keep the space feeling bright. I think a sage green would work really well with your white units and soften the black cooker (Ive added an image below). It would also work with either the grey floor you currently have or the beige travestine tiles if you did decide to continue them from your hallway. You could then add some sage accents like a clock, lights etc to bring the scheme together (taking inspiration from the below image.) And adding a plant maybe a Fern in a rustic pot will bring the country vibe into your space. Im not sure what your current units are made from but you could look into pianting some of the units to bring the colour scheme together. Hope this helps Louise...See Morerinked
